The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving sound credit decisions, ensuring portfolio quality and mentoring a team of analysts and portfolio managers.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor and provide guidance to a team of credit analysts and portfolio managers for professional growth and productivity.
- Oversee workload distribution and establish priorities to meet the business objectives
- Lead the underwriting process for complex commercial loan transactions.
- Review, analyze and approve/recommend credit requests in line with risk appetite and policy.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers to structure deals that meet client needs while maintaining credit integrity.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of commercial loans, including the performance of the CRE loan portfolio across asset types (e.g., multifamily, office, retail, industrial).
- Ensure timely and accurate credit reviews, renewals and covenant compliance.
- Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support internal audits, regulatory examinations related to CRE lending and partner with senior management to strengthen credit practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial real estate credit underwriting and portfolio management.
- 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong credit analysis, structuring and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
