About Tailwind Care

Tailwind Care is building a better way to care for kids and teens with metabolic health concerns through a family-centered model. Too often, families are left to navigate fragmented care, long waitlists, and a system that treats medical, nutritional, and behavioral needs separately.

We bring medical care, nutrition, and behavioral health together in one coordinated, evidence-based program, covered by insurance. Our goal is to help kids and teens build healthier lives, with care that’s practical, compassionate, and built around the whole family.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced full-cycle clinical recruiter to own clinician hiring from initial sourcing through accepted offer.

You’ll recruit physicians, advanced practice clinicians, registered dietitians, behavioral health clinicians, and other clinical roles as Tailwind grows. This is a hands-on role: you’ll source candidates directly, review inbound applications, conduct initial interviews, manage candidates through the interview process, and drive the offer stage.

Once a candidate accepts an offer, you’ll hand them off to our Clinical Operations team for contracting, credentialing, and clinical onboarding.

This is a good fit for someone who has recruited clinicians in a telehealth healthcare environment and is comfortable owning the recruiting process end-to-end.

What you’ll own
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines. Proactively source strong clinicians through LinkedIn, professional communities, referrals, targeted outreach, and other channels. Build relationships with clinicians who may be a fit now or as Tailwind grows.

  • Find another way when a search isn't working. Test new sourcing channels, messaging, communities, and approaches rather than relying on the same search strategy indefinitely.

  • Review and screen applicants. Assess resumes and applications against role requirements, confirm basic licensing and eligibility requirements, and determine who should move forward.

  • Conduct initial interviews. Lead first-round conversations to assess relevant experience, communication, motivation, logistics, and overall fit before candidates move to clinical interviews.

  • Manage the interview process. Coordinate candidates through clinical and leadership interviews, keep the process moving, and make sure interviewers have the context they need.

  • Own the candidate experience. Communicate clearly and promptly, keep candidates engaged, and make a fast-moving process feel organized and personal.

  • Drive offers to acceptance. Partner with Tailwind leadership on compensation and offer decisions, deliver offers, answer candidate questions, and keep momentum through acceptance.

  • Maintain a clean recruiting system. Keep candidate stages, notes, feedback, pipeline data, and next steps accurate in the ATS.

  • Track recruiting performance. Maintain accurate pipeline data and regularly report on sourcing activity, funnel conversion, hiring progress, and where searches are getting stuck.

  • Build recruiting infrastructure as we grow. Help improve sourcing strategies, interview processes, templates, reporting, and other recruiting workflows rather than simply operating an established playbook.

  • Partner closely with clinical and operations leaders. Develop a strong understanding of what makes a clinician successful at Tailwind and continuously refine the recruiting profile based on what we learn.

What makes this role different
  • You own the full cycle. From sourcing through accepted offer, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of each search.

  • You’ll help build the recruiting function. We’re early, so you’ll improve the process while actively hiring rather than inherit a fully built system.

  • You’ll work directly with clinical and operations leaders. You’ll be close to the hiring decisions and help shape what great looks like as the team grows.

Who you are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a full-cycle clinical recruiter, owning searches from sourcing through offer

  • Experience recruiting licensed healthcare clinicians such as physicians, NPs/PAs, registered dietitians, therapists, or similar clinical professionals

  • Recruiting experience at a healthcare organization with a meaningful telehealth or virtual-care component

  • Strong direct-sourcing skills and experience building pipelines for hard-to-fill clinical roles

  • Experience conducting initial candidate interviews and making informed recommendations about who should advance

  • Strong candidate-management skills, including keeping multiple searches and interview processes moving at once

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Comfortable working independently in an early-stage environment where priorities and hiring needs can change quickly

  • Based anywhere in the United States

Nice to have

  • Experience recruiting for an early-stage healthcare startup

  • Experience recruiting remote or multi-state clinical teams

  • Experience recruiting 1099 clinicians

  • Familiarity with clinician licensure, credentialing, CAQH, or payer enrollment

  • Experience with Ashby

  • Existing networks within pediatrics, obesity medicine, nutrition, or behavioral health

Schedule & commitment

Approximately 20-25 hours per week, with flexibility in how those hours are structured.

The role will begin as a 1099 contract position. As Tailwind grows, there is potential for the scope and hours to increase and for the position to transition into a full-time W-2 role.
