Job Overview

The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President & Chief Commercial Officer is a senior strategic operator and trusted advisor responsible for maximizing the impact, focus, and execution of Socure’s Commercial organization.

This role functions as the CCO’s right hand, driving cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, Product, and Finance. The CoS ensures that commercial strategy translates into disciplined execution, scalable operating models, and measurable business impact.

This is not an administrative role. It requires executive-level strategic thinking, deep commercial acumen, and the ability to diagnose complex business challenges, bring structured solutions, and drive outcomes across the organization.

The CoS partners closely with the CEO’s Chief of Staff and Executive Office to ensure enterprise alignment and operating consistency.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Commercial Partnership
  • Act as the CCO’s primary strategic advisor and operational thought partner.

  • Shape and refine commercial strategy, operating rhythms, and long-term growth initiatives.

  • Ensure alignment between revenue objectives and enterprise strategic priorities.

  • Provide structured, executive-ready recommendations on critical commercial decisions.

Business & Revenue Performance Leadership
  • Develop and oversee mechanisms to track commercial performance, pipeline health, forecasting rigor, and execution effectiveness.

  • Identify root causes of revenue gaps or execution breakdowns and drive corrective action.

  • Partner with RevOps and Finance to improve forecasting accuracy and operating visibility.

  • Ensure commercial goals are translated into measurable OKRs with disciplined follow-through.

Cross-Functional Enterprise Alignment
  • Serve as connective tissue between Commercial, Product, Finance, Strategy, and Operations.

  • Drive alignment on GTM motions, customer segmentation, pricing strategy, and partnership strategy.

  • Represent the CCO in key forums to unblock decisions and accelerate execution.

Executive-Level Problem Solving
  • Proactively surface complex commercial risks and opportunities.

  • Conduct structured analysis of organizational, performance, or market challenges.

  • Bring well-developed, actionable solutions—not just problem statements.

Operating Model & Organizational Design
  • Provide informed input on org design, incentive structures, planning cycles, and operating cadence.

  • Drive clarity in roles, accountability, and decision-making across the revenue organization.

  • Support change management across the Commercial org during periods of growth and transformation.

Leadership & Meeting Operations
  • Own strategic leadership meeting architecture (Revenue LT, QBRs, planning sessions).

  • Ensure agendas, pre-reads, and decision frameworks are clear and outcome-oriented.

  • Drive rigorous documentation, action tracking, and follow-through.

AI & Operational Innovation
  • Champion AI-driven optimization within the Commercial organization.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Systems to drive intelligent workflow automation and decision-support tooling.

  • Establish governance and best practices for AI-enabled commercial workflows.

Job Requirements
  • 10+ years in senior operations, consulting, revenue strategy, business operations, or Chief of Staff roles in high-growth SaaS or technology companies.

  • Demonstrated success supporting C-level executives in scaling commercial organizations.

  • Strong commercial fluency (pipeline management, sales productivity, GTM strategy, revenue forecasting).

  • Proven experience driving cross-functional strategic initiatives.

  • Exceptional structured problem-solving and executive communication skills.

  • High executive presence, sound judgment, and ability to influence without authority.

  • Deep experience with OKR frameworks, operating cadences, and strategic planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience strongly preferred.

Key Attributes
  • Strategic Operator: Balances vision and tactical execution.

  • Revenue-Oriented Thinker: Understands the mechanics of commercial growth.

  • Enterprise Integrator: Connects dots across departments.

  • Structured Problem Solver: Brings clarity to complexity.

  • Change Leader: Drives scalable operating discipline.

  • Trusted Advisor: Anticipates executive needs and blind spots.

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
