We are seeking a talented individual to join our Career Products team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in New York, Boston, Atlanta or Washington, D.C. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for driving global revenue growth and market expansion across all customer-facing functions. This includes sales, pricing, global commercial partnerships, go-to-market strategy, customer success, and commercial operations.

The CCO will translate product innovation into scalable commercial outcomes, align regional execution with global strategy, and build a high-performance product revenue organization across mature and growth markets.

This role is both strategic and operational: shaping long-term commercial direction while owning near-term performance.

We will count on you to:

Manage Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Define and execute the global commercial strategy aligned with Career business strategy and product strategy

  • Own revenue growth, market penetration, and customer lifetime value across regions

  • Identify and prioritize new markets, segments, and monetization opportunities

  • Lead pricing, packaging, and commercial model design (B2B, B2C, enterprise, channel, hybrid)

Go-To-Market & Sales Leadership

  • Oversee global sales strategy, including enterprise, mid-market, and channel sales

  • Drive consistent go-to-market execution across regions while allowing for local adaptation

  • Contribute to setting of revenue targets, forecasts, and KPIs for local markets

  • Ensure disciplined pipeline management

  • Build and scale a high-performing, metrics-driven sales organization through upskilling, hiring and active, structured sales enablement

Customer & Revenue Operations

  • Own customer acquisition, retention, and expansion strategies

  • Partner with Product and Customer Success to improve onboarding, adoption, and renewal rates

  • Establish best-in-class commercial operations (CRM, forecasting, compensation, analytics)

  • Ensure customer feedback loops inform product roadmap and commercial prioritization

Partnerships & Ecosystem

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships, alliances, and distribution channels to accelerate growth

  • Negotiate and manage global commercial agreements

  • Build an ecosystem that extends reach, reduces friction, and increases switching costs

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and develop senior commercial leaders across regions

  • Act as a key advisor to the Global Head of Product & AI as well as the President of Career and the Career Executive Leadership team on growth strategy and market dynamics

  • Ensure compliance with regional regulatory, pricing, and contractual frameworks

  • Foster a performance culture with accountability, transparency, and collaboration

Success Metrics

  • Revenue growth (absolute and CAGR)

  • Market share expansion in priority regions

  • Sales productivity and pipeline conversion

  • Customer retention, expansion, and lifetime value

  • Time-to-market and GTM execution effectiveness

What you will need to have:

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive commercial leadership in a global product-based business

  • Proven success scaling revenue across multiple geographies

  • Deep experience owning sales, GTM, and pricing at executive level

  • Track record of working closely with Product and Engineering teams

  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed, international organizations

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong commercial intuition grounded in data and analytics

  • Ability to balance global consistency with regional nuance

  • Excellent negotiation and executive-level communication skills

  • High operational discipline with strategic vision

  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity and rapid change

Personal Attributes

  • Results-oriented with strong ownership mindset

  • Collaborative leader who builds trust across functions

  • Commercially minded

  • High integrity and sound judgment in complex decision making

Why join our team:

  • To be part of a company with a strong brand, committed to making a difference in people's lives.

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.

  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.

  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
