Category Manager, IT & Engineering Tools Procurement

About The Job

As the Category Manager for IT & Engineering Tools Procurement, you will be responsible for defining and executing Bose’s global strategy for sourcing and managing technology investments across the IT and Engineering ecosystems. This role serves as a strategic business partner to the IT organization and Engineering IT, ensuring that technology solutions and suppliers align with business goals, deliver value, and enable innovation.
 
You will drive the IT category strategy through proactive budget reviews, strategic sourcing, and close collaboration with IT leadership, including the IT Directors, CISO, and CIO. Your leadership will shape how Bose selects, negotiates, and manages key suppliers supporting infrastructure, cloud, software, and engineering platforms that power product development and enterprise operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead IT and Engineering technology sourcing strategies aligned with business, security, and financial objectives.
  • Partner with IT business owners, Finance, and senior leadership to plan and review budgets, identify cost optimization opportunities, and ensure spend transparency.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with vendors across software, cloud, hardware, and managed services.
  • Execute sourcing activities including RFI/RFP, negotiations, and contract management for complex IT agreements (SaaS, IaaS, PLM, ERPs, ITSM, CAD/CAE, managed services, MSA, SLA, SOW).
  • Ensure contracts meet Bose standards for risk, data privacy, and compliance.
  • Monitor supplier performance and vendor lifecycle, driving accountability through vendor governance, KPIs and performance reviews.
  • Stay informed on technology and market trends to inform sourcing decisions and identify innovation opportunities.
  • Provide regular reporting on strategy execution, savings, and key performance indicators to senior IT leadership.

About You

  • Proven leader in IT or Engineering procurement with experience managing enterprise technology categories.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and engineering tools ecosystems.
  • Excellent negotiation, financial analysis, and stakeholder management skills, with an understanding of licensing models, cloud services, and managed IT agreements
  • Skilled at navigating complex stakeholder environments and translating technology roadmaps into actionable sourcing strategies.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across IT, Engineering, Finance, and Legal.
  • 5+ years of relevant procurement experience; SAP Ariba or similar platform experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA a plus).
  • Familiarity with software asset management, ITIL, or vendor risk frameworks a plus.

The hiring range for this position in Atlanta, Georgia is: $97,100-$133,475.
