Position Summary

The Capacity Utilization Template Specialist is responsible for the coordination, management, and upkeep of system-wide provider templates to support optimal patient access and scheduling performance. This role partners with operations, IS&T, and system governance structures to execute template strategies aligned with Access IQ decision trees and solution-based scheduling principles.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring template accuracy, standardization, and alignment, aligning operational capacity with referral demand, supporting improved capacity utilization, provider productivity, and patient experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize provider scheduling templates within Epic Cadence in alignment with governance standards, coordinating template updates and changes across service lines, clinics, and specialties to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Partner with operations leaders and IS&T to execute template strategies and resolve scheduling or access issues
  • Support implementation of Access IQ decision trees and solution-based scheduling workflows while also performing routine audits to validate template integrity including visit types, slot utilization, and scheduling rules
  • Identify gaps in template performance and recommend improvements to increase access, throughput, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support go-live readiness, template transitions, and system changes
  • Monitor and respond to scheduling and template-related issues impacting patient access and provider productivity

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Epic Cadence scheduling workflows
  • Experience working with provider templates and scheduling systems
  • Experience with provider template build and optimization
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of clinical operations in specialty or primary care settings
  • Internal candidates not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $26.56 - $38.22 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
