Job Summary

The Center of Healthcare Delivery Science (C4HDS) is an academic research group focused on the design and testing of innovative ways to engage patients and providers in increasing the use of evidence-based interventions to improve health and healthcare delivery. The Center’s largest projects involve multicomponent Center projects and real world randomized controlled trials that seek to identify scalable strategies to enhance patient and provider engagement. The design and conduct of these trials creatively blends rigorous research methods with the operational realities faced by organizations that deliver healthcare. To that end, the Center collaborates closely with groups that deliver care, administer health insurance benefits and/or develop technologies for improving healthcare.
The research program manager (PM) will provide ongoing infrastructure support for the administration of research activities conducted at the Center. Responsibilities include daily management throughout the project lifecycle, monitoring progress and budget, communicating with stakeholders, and handling program related documentation (progress reports, etc.). The PM will assist in the development of new project proposals and ensure all regulatory and legal activities are completed in a timely manner.
The PM will be required to work closely with the Center’s Execute Director and other leadership, investigators and staff as well as collaborators at BWH, Mass General Brigham and other institutions around the country. In addition, the PM will manage the research assistants working at the Center and will be responsible for administrative tasks related to the Center’s research fellowship program.


 

Qualifications

Key management responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and management for day-to-day operations of the Center under the direction of the Center’s Director.
  • Oversee the seamless planning and execution of all aspects of research conducted at the Center and the Dissemination and Implementation Incubator for Harvard Catalyst
  • Assist in the implementation and planning for clinical research studies and coordinates all resources necessary to make studies operational.
  • Collaborate with administrative leadership in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics to facilitate relevant HR activities
  • Assist in the development of new project proposals and build relationships with collaborating institutions
  • Monitor progress of overall Center’s research project portfolio and identify grant funding for future research conducted at the Center
  • Coordinate project plans and manage project meetings and agendas
  • Prepare presentations and materials for distribution related to strategic Center priorities
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with other team members to set priorities, allocate resources, and monitor progress toward goals
  • Manage and maintain public website and outreach activities for the Center:
    • Coordinate regular content updates for website
    • Sharing of the activities, events, and resources of the program, creation of web resources to support annual national competition.
    • Help organize and recruit speakers for webinars, and other training and outreach activities for the center.

Key research responsibilities:

  • Support and, if appropriate, lead the planning, execution and oversight of multi-year, multi-stakeholder pragmatic clinical trials
  • Manage project timelines to ensure that project goals are met on time
  • Provide project updates to project team and collaborators (internal and external)
  • Manage all regulatory activities related to the Center’s research portfolio
  • Oversee clinical trial monitoring activities
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication in professional journals in collaboration with the Center’s faculty, mentor and coach student trainees and other research staff.
  • Support the development and utilization of data collection forms/electronic case report forms, testing and validation of study-specific electronic data capture systems, generation of reports (e.g., IRB/NIH annual progress reports, clinicaltrials.gov reporting, data and safety monitoring board reports, and other routine study reports as needed), data records management, and ensuring compliance procedures are followed.
  • Provide expertise and oversight for monitoring related activities and for monitoring staff which may include: Reviewing protocols and creating data monitoring proposals, Providing quality monitoring to evaluate clinical data integrity to assure that data is accurate, complete and in accordance with the protocol, Reviewing monitoring status, query resolution and reports
  • Ensuring Center-wide compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Experience working within a health care network or health insurance company is highly preferred.
