POSITION PROFILE

The overall objective and purpose of the Group Sales & Business Travel Services Manager is to plan for group meetings, conferences, driving revenue and market share for the business travel market through strategic sales initiatives and effective relationship management.

This role requires an understanding of the travel industry and a proven track 

record in sales. The ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and achieve daily targets, whilst offering a very high level of Customer Service is a must.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Develop and execute a strategic Business Travel sales plan by analyzing historical, current and future hotel and market trends to meet or exceed established revenue goals.
  • Prospect and develop new Local and National Business Travel accounts through outside sales calls, telephone prospecting, networking, referrals, market research and client appointments.
  • Re-engage historical and previously producing corporate accounts to identify opportunities to recapture room nights and revenue.
  • Maximize existing key corporate accounts by identifying opportunities to increase production and capture additional market share.
  • Utilize Agency 360 and other market intelligence tools to identify corporate accounts producing within the competitive set and develop strategies to shift business to the hotel

Group Sales-Secondary Focus

  • Solicit and manage assigned Group Sales accounts and market segments
  • Prospect for new Group Sales opportunities, with additional focus on hotel need dates and softer periods.
  • Repsond promptly to assigned group RFPs, inquiries and leads.

General Sales Responsibilities

  • Develop strong customer relationships through frequent, professional courteous and ethical communications.
  • Focus on revenue-producing activities and maximize direct selling time.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Two-Four -year college degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of one year of hotel sales or related sales experience. Business Travel, Corporate Sales and Group Sales.
  • Hilton experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Business Travel negotiated accounts, corporate RFPs and hotel sales procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Outside sales calls, servicing groups, site inspections, attending meetings, travel and community/ industry functions
  • Lift   up to 10 lbs.(amenities when making sales calls, attending trade shows, etc.)
  • Hotel tours, sales calls, trade shows
