DESCRIPTION

This position will be working within Bain Capital’s Private Markets and Corporate Technology team, which supports  Private Equity, Growth & Venture, Real Assets and cross firm platform services areas. This role will work on systems and projects focused on supporting needs of global private equity business.

Leveraging both your business and technical knowledge, this individual will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, application developers and QA specialists to provide solutions supporting our technology platforms for private equity deal , portfolio group ,  finance and investment operations.

This will include driving PE mandated projects as well as participating at various levels in other technology related initiatives, from strategic approach conception to new system development/integration to post implementation work. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a sense of ownership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of private markets focused systems and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Analysis & Delivery

  • Lead requirements gathering, documentation, and testing of solutions supporting global private equity business needs.
  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance system functionality.
  • Oversee applications supporting the PE business  including  deal management, fund management,  accounting, portfolio reporting 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Partner with deal, portfolio , Finance and operations teams to align technology solutions with business goals.
  • Compile and communicate release notes, roadmaps, and project updates for stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, balancing business priorities with IT objectives.

Vendor & Product Ownership

  • Help Manage application support vendors and third-party system providers.
  • Ensure vendor solutions align with Bain Capital’s technology standards and business needs.
  • Oversee software release cycles and coordinate delivery across internal and external teams.

Continuous Improvement & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Act as a subject matter expert on private markets deal, operations, finance and other associated  processes.
  • Support development of new integrations and upgrades to existing platforms.
  • Advocate best practices in systems analysis, product management, and project governance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of business/systems analysis experience supporting  buy-side/ asset management firms
  • Demonstrated prior experience supporting private equity / Growth type businesses
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end private equity lifecycle across multiple funds, strategies, and geographies
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and driving business-facing technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with project reporting tools and release management practices.
  • Technical skills with SQL, Excel, Python, or BI/reporting tools.
  • Experience with Investran or an equivalent private equity accounting solution is preferred
  • Experience with Chronograph or an equivalent portfolio data collection solution is preferred
  • Experience with evaluating, implementing /configuring  AI enabled solutions to augment key business processes is preferred 

Compensation:

Expected Annual Base Salary $190,000 - $215,000

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
