About Posh

We are all social creatures, but the dominant “social” companies today have evolved into digital loneliness machines, driving isolation, anxiety, and mental health challenges across our lives.

Human connection is lost. Posh is a beacon guiding us back.

Posh enables anyone to become an event organizer, build a community around their followers, and bring people together in person to cultivate real-world human connections. Founded by event enthusiasts and college dropouts, we’ve built the ultimate tools for creating, marketing, and monetizing in-person communities globally. In just three years, Posh has grown to a team of 60, expanded to 5M+ users, secured $40m in venture funding, and facilitated over $220M in transactions. We've achieved more than teams ten times our size in a tenth of the time—and there's so much more to come.

About the Role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a vital role in fueling Posh’s growth by turning event interest into meaningful connections and booked opportunities. Every month, our Community team hosts events across 15 key markets — happy hours, panels, and workshops that attract hundreds of organizers eager to level up and build their own communities.

As a BDR, you’ll take these RSVPs and transform them into pipeline. You’ll A/B test strategies with the goal to increase the % of attendees we convert from each event, creating automations and reaching out via phone, email, and Instagram to start conversations, qualify leads, and book demos for our Account Executives and Account Managers.

You’ll be the front line of Posh’s revenue engine: building relationships, sparking curiosity, and turning interest into action.

What You’ll Do:

Pipeline Management
  • Manage a pipeline of inbound leads from events we host, ensuring every organizer receives timely and personalized outreach right after each event.

  • Execute high-volume outreach through phone calls, emails, and social channels to drive qualified meetings.

  • Qualify each opportunity and route leads effectively between Account Executives and Account Managers.

  • Maintain clean and accurate data hygiene across our CRM systems.

Collaboration & Strategy
  • Partner with the Revenue Operations team to create and iterate on Clay automations and CRM email workflows that increase response and booking rates.

  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Community, and Account Management to refine messaging, uncover new opportunities, and improve pipeline velocity.

  • Deliver a consistent volume of sales-qualified leads that convert into revenue opportunities.

  • Collect insights and share feedback from outreach to help the team improve our value propositions, talk tracks, and funnel conversion metrics.

Communication & Representation
  • Lead consultative conversations with key decision-makers to uncover pain points and communicate Posh’s value.

  • Represent Posh’s values while providing an exceptional experience for every prospect.

  • Act as an extension of our community voice: approachable, informed, and helpful.

About You
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales and/or business development roles at fast-paced companies.

  • Hunter mentality with a proven record of success in cold calling, outbound email, and social outreach.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.

  • Proficiency with our core sales tooling: including Close, HubSpot, Clay, Instagram, Google Workspace, and Notion.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; comfortable juggling priorities and managing follow-ups.

  • A self-starter mindset with curiosity, energy, and a passion for exceeding goals.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
