The GainsKeeper Business Analyst plays a critical role in defining product requirements, supporting operational analysis, and driving continuous process improvement across the GainsKeeper Suite of Products, including GainsKeeper Brokerage, FundTax, and the Corporate Action Suite. This role combines business analysis, financial services expertise, and data-driven problem-solving to support product development, regulatory compliance, operational effectiveness, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Business Analyst works closely with Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Client-facing teams to translate business needs into functional solutions while supporting the continued evolution of GainsKeeper products and services. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for leveraging technology, including AI-powered tools, to improve business outcomes.
- Gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements for new product features and enhancements.
- Develop clear and accurate functional specifications, user stories, use cases, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with Technical Product Managers to ensure requirements are complete, consistent, and aligned with product strategy.
- Work closely with tax and financial subject matter experts to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into product specifications.
- Collaborate with development teams throughout design, development, testing, and implementation phases, providing clarification and business context as needed.
- Support Quality Assurance efforts by reviewing test cases, validating requirements coverage, and assisting with defect triage and resolution.
- Analyze current and historical system outputs to identify trends, variances, root causes, and opportunities for product or process improvements.
- Perform data collection, validation, and analysis to support operational effectiveness and business decision-making.
- Create and maintain reports, metrics, and supporting documentation used to monitor product and operational performance.
- Track and maintain project and operational information to support management reporting and planning activities.
- Participate in end-to-end process reviews and process mapping initiatives to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and scalability improvements.
- Document business processes, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Assist documentation teams by drafting release notes, client communications, and user-facing documentation.
- Leverage data analysis and AI-enabled productivity tools to improve documentation quality, research efficiency, and process effectiveness.
- Support implementation, customer support, and operations teams by providing product and subject matter expertise during deployments and escalations.
- Partner with business stakeholders, operations teams, product managers, and technology teams to ensure business needs are clearly understood and accurately translated into solution requirements.
- Engage with clients to gather product feedback, identify emerging business needs, and support product roadmap discussions.
- Prepare and present findings, analyses, recommendations, and project updates to business and technical audiences.
- Coordinate special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
- Experience creating business process flows, use cases, functional specifications, and other requirements documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex business processes and data sets.
- Knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income securities, options, mutual funds, and ETFs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, analysis techniques, and data manipulation.
- Experience analyzing large data sets and identifying trends, anomalies, and root causes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or other Agile project management platforms.
- Working knowledge of cost basis reporting, tax-lot accounting, and IRS cost basis regulations.
- Experience leveraging AI technologies for research, requirements development, documentation, process improvement, and data analysis.
- AI-related training, certifications, or demonstrated practical experience are strongly preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in Financial Services, Operations, Product Support, Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with GainsKeeper, cost basis systems, tax-lot accounting platforms, or related financial services applications preferred.
- Experience participating in software development, product enhancement, or business process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Compensation:
$68,900.00 - $118,050.00 USDThis role is eligible for Bonus.
Compensation range listed is based on primary location of the position. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
