Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our Investment Operations squad. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that our investment platforms and operations are scalable, modernized, and aligned with strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in financial asset management, a strong analytical mindset, and a collaborative spirit to drive continuous improvement across our investment operations capabilities.
The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing investment operations by developing a deep understanding of existing tools and products, with emphasis on business capabilities and risk-oriented workflows. This role requires balancing short-term operational demands with long-term strategic objectives focused on modernization, growth, and sustainability. It involves translating complex business insights into clear, engineering-focused documentation that drives alignment and value. A strong emphasis is placed on critical and creative thinking to foster innovation and challenge conventional approaches.
This is a hybrid work environment opportunity located in Boston, Massachusetts with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
As part of Geode’s Investment Operations squad, you will:
- Serve as a strategic liaison between engineering teams and business stakeholders to extract, analyze, document, and validate requirements, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions
- Facilitate the development and refinement of product requirements, support backlog grooming, and collaborate closely with the Product Manager to deliver continuous enhancements
- Key contributor to the design and delivery of scalable, forward-looking investment operations solutions, effectively managing the product work pipeline
- Champion the evolution of investment operations platforms and capabilities, driving modernization and operational excellence
Skills You Bring:
- 5–10 years of experience in financial asset management, with a focus on systems/business analysis in Investment/Trade Operations or Middle Office Analyst roles
- Hands-on experience with SimCorp Dimension IBOR functionality, including inputs, processing, and exports
- Knowledge of portfolio management support in Passive Index Management and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)
- Proficiency in Jira, SQL, and agile SDLC methodologies
- Skilled in conveying business process and requirements using diagrams and other collaboration tools like Miro
- Proven collaboration with operations and investment professionals, with a strong understanding of Investment Book of Records (IBOR) and investment workflows working with financial data sets, including data query, analysis, and management
- Ability to quickly assimilate modern technology, technical concepts, and evaluate product options as part of a rapid modernization.
- Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams including engineers, investment professionals, trade, and investment operations staff with significant contributions to product data architecture
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences
