Co-op Opportunity 

Chewy is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer I Co-op to join our team in Boston, MA!  We’re looking for an engineer that has good technical skills and has a strong passion for data analysis. Most importantly, the ideal candidate is deeply passionate about data and looking to grow their career in a fast-paced dynamic environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to experience many facets of business intelligence including end-to-end project delivery, providing user support, platform administration, report development, data pipeline management and data analysis. The co-op will showcase broad technical skills with excellent analytic abilities, and the ability to make data-backed decisions.  

Co-op Timeframe: June 2, 2025 – December 5, 2025 (must be available for the full duration)  

Qualified Students: Rising Seniors graduating in Spring 2026  

What You’ll Do 

  • Own the prioritization, design, development, and maintenance of a variety of reporting content to support critical business decisions, primarily Tableau end products 
  • Serve as liaison between business and IT partners to achieve solution goals to meet the needs of our users 
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders on data visualization and standard processes to tell their story through data interpretation 
  • Recognize, adopt, and evangelize the standard processes in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation 
  • Support leadership with timely recurring and ad-hoc analyses 
  • Continually improve ongoing platform, reporting, automating, or simplifying processes with the goal of improving the quality and value of data at Chewy 
  • Be engaged with inter and intra team cultures contributing to discussions with data supported ideas and a forward looking, scalable mentality 

 

What You’ll Need 

  • Enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026  
  • Detailed knowledge of BI data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools 
  • Experience with workflow tools such as Alteryx, KNIME, DBT, Airflow 
  • Demonstrable skills in BI visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI 
  • Strong SQL skills with a working understanding of columnar databases 
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization required 
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from June 2, 2025 – December 5, 2025 

Bonus 

  • Strong Tableau experience or certification, experience with advance visualization libraries such as Plotly, DASH, D3js 
  • Experience with AWS tech stack 
  • Experience with other scripting languages such as Python or R

The specific hourly range offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k.

Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.

Pay Range

$30$30 USD
