The Team
The Benefits Analyst is responsible for the overall administration of the Company’s benefit programs. The role oversees compliance, daily administration and ongoing governance of the benefit plans, including medical, dental, reimbursement, wellness, disability, life, employee assistance, 401(k), financial wellness and adoption assistance plans. The Benefits Analyst ensures that COBRA rights are properly administrated for the applicable programs and serves as a key point of accountability for welfare plan audits, open enrollment, and timely preparation and filing of all required governmental reports including 5500s. In addition, he incumbent will be responsible for staying current on and ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations affecting our Benefit programs, including but not limited to Employee Retirement Income Security Act ("ERISA"), Internal Revenue Service ("IRS"), Department of Labor ("DOL"), Department of Health and Human Services (“DHHS”) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA") regulations. This role requires strong analytical capabilities and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You Can Offer Us
- Responsible for program management of health and welfare programs.
- Oversee disability processes and administration for short- and long-term disability, Family Medical Leave Act ("FMLA"), military and any unpaid leave for all employees, including ensuring compliance with FMLA guidelines and any applicable state mandated laws.
- Process all 401(k) funding and provide Accounting/Finance teams with timely and accurate reports, as applicable.
- Facilitate processing of 401(k) enrollments, deferral changes and loan processing.
- Process all wellness and education reimbursements and provide accurate reporting.
- Oversee all benefit plan enrollments, review and provide guidance for all employee inquiries, and make benefit eligibility determinations on domestic partner affidavits and mid-year qualified status changes.
- Work with all plan vendors to resolve administration problems and employee issues, making recommendations on how to streamline current processes and improve department efficiencies.
- Partner with Senior Benefits Analysts and IT team on system upgrades, including troubleshooting for Fusion HR.
- Prepare incoming appeals for review by Benefits Committee and provide supporting documentation for both plan rules and governmental regulations.
- Apply functional knowledge of current ERISA, IRS, DOL, DHHS, HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley Act regulations to maintain compliance of health and welfare plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of benefit enrollment, change and termination information in the HRIT system.
- Oversee transportation/parking programs.
- Ad hoc project work, including managing the open enrollment project and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of benefits experience.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent MS Excel and MS Word skills required.
- Must have functional knowledge of employee benefit plan regulations, including but not limited to SOX, ERISA, IRS, DOL, DHHS, HIPAA and FMLA.
- Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong follow-up and customer service skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions.
- The incumbent must be flexible as there may be work weeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the position’s expectations and responsibilities are met.
- 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. May require some travel (less than 5%).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
