Based in Harvard Business Review Group’s Brighton offices, the B2B Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue in support of sales goals for HBR’s B2B subscriptions program in the North American market.


Under the supervision of the Director, B2B and Custom Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing sales leads for group and corporate subscriptions to HBR within their territory. This hybrid inside sales role will be expected to contribute to the rapid expansion and scaling of HBR’s burgeoning B2B subscriptions program. The B2B Sales Representative will also play a support role in generating leads and closing group sales for HBR Executive, HBR’s premium-tier subscription for senior leaders.


What you'll do

  • Generate, nurture, and close inbound and outbound sales opportunities for HBR group and corporate subscription products.
  • Partner with the Director, B2B and Custom Sales to execute revenue-generating initiatives and achieve subscription sales goals.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, pipeline management in Salesforce, contracting, and account handoff.
  • Analyze sales reports and market data to identify new prospects, uncover growth opportunities, and build a healthy pipeline.
  • Collaborate with clients and Customer Success partners to support subscription renewals and drive long-term customer value.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, publishing, media, or a related industry with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline, prospecting for new business, negotiating agreements, and closing opportunities.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and leveraging data to inform sales strategy and decision-making.

You'll stand out if you have

  • Experience utilizing generative AI tools to improve prospecting, research, client engagement, or other aspects of the sales process.
  • Familiarity with Zendesk, Piano, or similar customer engagement and subscription management platforms.
  • Experience selling subscription-based products, digital media offerings, or professional learning solutions.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-growing business.

Travel as required (but likely minimal) for customer meetings, appropriate conferences, and Harvard Business Review Group meetings and events.

While this role is open to qualified candidates, individuals based in the Boston area will be prioritized due to onsite collaboration needs. This position follows a hybrid schedule, with an expectation to work onsite once per week on Wednesdays. The anticipated compensation range for this role is $70,000–$80,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.


Above is the annualized pay range for this position. In addition, this position includes the opportunity to earn our annual Performance Based Variable Pay Program. Actual salary will be set based upon a range of factors, including external benchmark market data, individual knowledge, skills, experience, location and internal equity.
