Overview
This role, within the Digital Product Management team, supports the advancement of the Purchase Path product roadmap by contributing to high-quality, member-focused solutions across cart and checkout experiences. The Associate Product Manager will partner closely with the Product Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver enhancements that improve the member shopping journey.
The ideal candidate has foundational experience in digital commerce, with exposure to cart and checkout optimization, promotions, payments, and Agile delivery across web and mobile app experiences. This role will focus on owning a defined subset of features within the Purchase Path domain, supporting execution, and driving improvements with stakeholders.
The role requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply Agile practices to support delivery of impactful product enhancements.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Own and deliver a defined subset of features or initiatives within the Purchase Path domain (primarily cart and checkout), under the guidance of the Product Manager
Support execution of the Purchase Path roadmap by contributing to feature definition, refinement, and delivery
Act as a product owner for features or enhancements, including backlog grooming, user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, and sprint support
Partner with Engineering, UX, QA, Analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, incremental improvements to cart and checkout experiences
Collaborate with the Personalization team and other partners to support implementation of personalized experiences and promotions within cart and checkout
Assist in supporting cart promotions and promotional capabilities, including visibility, messaging, coupon application, and QA/testing validation
Translate business requirements and user needs into clear, actionable user stories and product requirements
Use data, analytics, and member feedback to help identify opportunities to improve conversion, reduce friction, and enhance the purchase experience
Support prioritization decisions by assessing member impact, business value, and technical considerations, in alignment with the Product Manager
Help track feature performance and contribute to reporting on product metrics and outcomes
Demonstrate a fast-learning mindset, proactively acquiring new product, technical, and domain knowledge and applying it effectively to day-to-day work
Apply a working understanding of web and mobile app development concepts, including how frontend experiences interact with backend systems and APIs, to support effective collaboration with engineering teams
Qualifications
4-6 years of experience in product management or a related role, preferably within digital commerce or Agile environments
Foundational understanding of eCommerce purchase path experiences, including cart, checkout, payments, or promotions
Experience supporting product delivery across cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, QA, and Analytics
Basic to intermediate knowledge of web and mobile app development logic, including familiarity with frontend concepts and APIs; ability to understand how eCommerce systems function end-to-end
Ability to translate business and technical requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and recommendations
Experience or familiarity with cart promotions, couponing, payment flows, personalization, or digital retail platforms is a plus
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $131,500.00We recognize the growing role of AI tools, including ChatGPT, and value familiarity with them.
