This role, within the Digital Product Management team, supports the strategy, roadmap, and execution of BJ's digital shopping experience across a broad portfolio of product areas. This is a hands-on execution role that requires strong organizational skills, technical curiosity, and a reliable follow-through on detail-heavy cross-functional work. The right candidate is precise, proactive in closing open loops, and eager to develop their product instincts across AI-assisted experiences, search, and data-driven decision-making. This role partners closely with a senior PM and cross-functional delivery teams.

Responsibilities Include

  • Support delivery execution across AI-assisted member experiences, onsite search, browse, product relevancy, PDP enhancements, enhanced content, SEO, member reviews, and club locator
  • Own backlog management responsibilities for assigned areas, including user story creation, acceptance criteria development, sprint prioritization support, and release readiness tracking
  • Support external platform and technology partner coordination — tracking deliverables, flagging risks, supporting integration testing, and maintaining clear documentation of platform capabilities and gaps
  • Partner with engineering, UX, QA, and analytics teams to facilitate requirements, track sprint progress, and ensure clear cross-functional communication of scope and expectations
  • Support stakeholder communication by maintaining accurate tracking boards, providing timely status updates, and escalating blockers proactively
  • Coordinate with analytics, data engineering, and platform teams to support reporting needs, tagging requirements, and product intelligence initiatives
  • Assist in quarterly roadmap planning, documentation, and stakeholder communication preparation

 Requirements

  • 3-5 years of product management experience in a digital, eCommerce, or technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, user story writing, and release coordination
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — ability to manage multiple workstreams, maintain accurate documentation, and keep stakeholders informed without being prompted
  • Experience with or strong interest in user-facing AI products, conversational experiences, or AI-assisted digital features in a retail or consumer context
  • Ability to communicate clearly with engineering, UX, analytics, and business teams, and to represent product requirements accurately in cross-functional settings
  • Comfort with analytics tools and a data-informed approach to product decisions; ability to pull and interpret data independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with APIs, data integration concepts, or backend system dependencies as they relate to product requirements and feature scoping
  • Experience with SEO fundamentals and interest in AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) as it applies to AI-assisted retail discovery
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive digital product delivery

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $131,500.00

We recognize the growing role of AI tools, including ChatGPT, and value familiarity with them. That said, we want to hear from your authentic self. Your application should reflect your own skills, experiences, and insights rather than AI-generated responses.

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
