POSITION SUMMARY:

Associate I is responsible for managing the majority of the processes related to the asset management of our portfolio. IMRT members work across various departments, proactively manage the calendar, and implement system and procedural enhancements to assist in achieving individual, team, and company goals. This position is located at the Boston Financial headquarters in Boston, MA.*

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review team business processes by managing the calendar and implementing enhancements to proprietary systems and procedures that help proactively identify and resolve inefficiencies and improve workflow.
  • Develop, enhance, and implement the various systems used by the IM-Resource Team. Ensure team equipment is in good working order by completing preventive maintenance requirements and evaluating alternative equipment and techniques.
  • Coordinate and manage the Quarterly & Monthly Financial Processes and timeline (calendar, collection, review, and organization of the Quarterly and Monthly Financial Information).
  • Collaborate with the Team to collect, review, follow up on, and track various property compliance documents. Prepare reports and updates for the Team and Asset Management by analyzing and summarizing compliance information.
  • Facilitate the Tax & Audit Steering Group (TSSG) by managing the preparation and implementation of Tax & Audit Season processes, system enhancements, and delivery schedules. Work with Tax and IT Teams to develop the specifications for revising/enhancing our tax system, financial system, and web portal. IM-RT revises and/or enhances our Tax & Financial systems on an annual basis. Further, as the facilitator, work with the TSSG subgroup to develop the year-end calendar and refine or enhance the annual procedures for both Tax and Audit Season.
  • Train and manage tax temporary employees and other help as needed.
  • Organize periodic mailings to accountants, general partners, and management companies, which include Monthly & Quarterly collection letters, compliance monthly and bi-annual letters, investor letters, and annual tax and audit collection letters.
  • Assist in the collection, processing, and analysis of client information, investor mailings, invoice processing, and numerous special projects as needed.
  • Maintain integrity and quality service by implementing Team and Business policies and procedures and revising them as necessary to improve processes or meet new needs.
  • Travel required: <10%.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and organize the day in a fast-paced team environment with frequent interruptions without loss of efficiency and productivity.
  • Must be able to work across teams to manage and implement projects that assist in accomplishing business and team goals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment, pitching in wherever needed to achieve team and business objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while managing conflicting priorities.
  • Must be able to take initiative in identifying and resolving inefficiencies and issues.

Annual base salary gross: $80,000 - $90,000 (MA only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of ORIX’s salary for this position based on geography. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX’s total compensation package for employees.
