About this role

Learning Experience Designer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving skills‑based learning and assessment solutions aligned to business priorities. This role partners closely with business, HR, and Talent stakeholders to translate skill gaps into high‑quality learning experiences and measurable outcomes. The role sits in the middle of both strategy and production: it requires the designer to be hands-on and actively design and build learning assets, but be involved in involved in understanding business and skills needs and shaping learning, assessment and skills management frameworks. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

-Conduct learning and skills needs analyses using business data, stakeholder input, and performance insights. 

-Collaborate with Talent Practices, AIR, and HR Technology teams to embed learning and skills development into broader talent, performance, and career processes

-Analyze learning and business requirements and collaborate with SMEs, content sponsors, and course owners to design outcome‑driven learning solutions

-Design and develop instructional materials across modalities, including: 

  • Instructor‑led training (ILT) 
  • Blended and digital learning solutions 
  • Facilitator guides, participant materials, and multimedia assets

-Design and implement skills‑based assessments, such as scenario‑based questions, application tasks, and knowledge checks aligned to learning objectives and business outcomes. 

-Apply instructional design best practices and adult learning principles to ensure learning is engaging, effective, and learner‑centered. 

-Ensure all learning materials meet organizational objectives, brand standards, quality expectations, and accessibility guidelines

-Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs using learner feedback, assessments, and performance data. 

-Use insights from evaluation to iterate on learning design, assessments, and delivery approaches. 

-Stay current on instructional design trends, skills‑based learning practices, and adult learning theory to continuously improve learning solutions

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
