Job Description:

Summary

The Associate Director, Incentive Compensation (IC) oversees the incentive programs for the full US Rare Disease and Value and Access (V&A) Business Units. This role manages the process for designing incentive programs and is directly responsible for day-to-day implementation and administration of these programs. The Associate Director, IC collaborates with Business Unit (BU) leadership to design rewards that maximize the performance of field teams in alignment with company strategy. A key aspect of this role is the ability to interact with and influence senior leaders, including Sales, Operations and members of the North America Leadership Team (NALT), including the EVP of Northa America (NA), NA CFO, BU Heads and NA Head of Legal and Compliance.

The Associate Director, IC must be able to work in a self-directed manner within a cross-functional team environment and coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders. Demonstrated success managing processes and delivering aligned decisions in a matrixed environment is critical to success in this position.

This role will leverage content knowledge when completing analytics requests and enable the business organization to drive optimal decisions on investments. This role will report to the IC and Field Enablement Lead within the Business Operations & Strategy (BOS) Organization.  This role will have no direct reports. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strategic and trusting relationships with cross-functional leaders, guiding and influencing business strategies, activities, and decisions. Building confidence with all members of NALT is key to success in this role.

  • Drive innovation to deliver top-performing IC Plans that excite and engage the field while driving behaviors to help achieve our SIs and overall objectives.

  • Lead and influence the Rare Diseases IC Advisory Board (ICAB) meetings made up of various members and levels of the field team.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of various incentive compensation plans including but not limited to goal, commission, MBO, and relative rank plans.

  • Liaise with US Forecasting team on each semester to ensure Revenue projections are appropriately translated into IC goals across all US BUs, including Neuroscience, Oncology, and Rare Disease.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends in IC strategy, field targeting and alignment.

  • Manage the IC vendor to execute all Incentive Compensation activities for the Rare and V&A BUs’ plan design, goal setting, IC administration, ranking reports, IC scorecard, IC payouts, and sales reporting functions drawing on Business Analytics partners and external vendors when necessary.

  • Manage internal stakeholders and vendors to meet all timelines related to field alignment, IC plan, IC goal and IC payouts.

  • Proactively establish metrics and KPIs to determine and prioritize areas of opportunities for improving IC processes and managing key supplier relationships.

  • Provide consulting to stakeholders, including BU and Sales and Marketing leads, on IC best practices, customized solutions to meet business needs, and act as a thought leader in all IC-related meetings.

  • Develop appropriate communication tools for the field to provide a comprehensive understanding of how their incentive plans and award programs work.

  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff.

Knowledge & Experience

  •  BA.BS degree in related field required; advanced degree preferred

  • 6+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech or life sciences experience preferred

  • 4+ years of experience specific to incentive compensation design or sales operations preferred, broad commercial

  • operations are a plus

  • Strong experience in quantitative modelling methods and goal-setting techniques (patient-based, Rx-based, and

  • trend-based etc).

  • Broad commercial operations experience is a plus with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Experience managing complex processes on time and on budget

  • Fluent in English.

The annual base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $210,000.This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program.At Ipsen we are proud to offer a comprehensive employee benefits package, including 401(k) with company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, as well as flexible spending accounts.
