Position Summary:

The Associate Director, FILSPARI HCP Marketing is responsible for supporting the development and leading the execution of integrated U.S. healthcare professional (HCP) marketing for FILSPARI® (sparsentan). FILSPARI is approved in the U.S. for IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), two rare kidney diseases. The role encompasses HCP marketing across both indications, with primary responsibility for translating approved HCP and peer-to-peer (P2P) strategies into high-quality, compliant content and tactics.

Reporting to the Director, HCP Marketing, this role independently leads assigned HCP and P2P tactics, including HCP personal and non-personal promotion, peer-education materials, and speaker program content. The Associate Director determines executional plans and resource needs within approved strategies and budgets, leads external agencies, and supports internal cross-functional workstreams. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports and requires leadership through influence, matrix collaboration, and oversight of external resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director, HCP Marketing and the Director, Thought Leader Liaisons in the development and evolution of integrated HCP and P2P strategy, priorities, messaging, and annual brand and tactical plans; translate approved direction into objectives, briefs, deliverables, resource requirements, timelines, and measures of success for assigned tactics.

  • Independently lead the planning and execution of HCP marketing tactics for FILSPARI; serve as the business and content owner for assigned materials through the Promotional Review Committee process; prepare business rationale, lead agency revisions, resolve comments  with Committee partners, and secure final approval; partner with Marketing Services, Commercial Operations and agency partners on review scheduling, documentation, Veeva workflow, production, distribution, and content-library management.

  • Support the execution of P2P content and materials within strategies and priorities established by HCP and Thought Leader Liaison leadership for speaker programming and advisory boards; incorporate KOL insight, advocacy guidance, field feedback, and market intelligence into execution plans.

  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Sales Training and the field Marketing Advisory Board on the development and deployment of promotional resources for the national Clinical Account Management team; support the Director, HCP Marketing with HCP Marketing content for national sales meetings, plan-of-action meetings, and field training initiatives.

  • Partner with Digital Marketing on optimization of HCP websites and NPP content and assets; within the approved HCP content strategy, lead creative briefs, asset development, and promotional review, while Digital Marketing owns channel architecture, technical and measurement requirements, deployment or activation, and ongoing optimization.

  • Manage assigned tactic budgets, forecasts, scopes of work, and invoice review within approved HCP Marketing plan; partner with Contracts and Procurement on purchase orders and vendor workflows, recommend resource trade-offs and adjustments to leadership, and ensure investments deliver against business objectives.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, a relevant Life Sciences discipline, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.

  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive marketing experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, or related agency experience.

  • Prior leadership experience driving operational implementation and excellence, with accountability for external resources and budgets; demonstrated HCP marketing and regulated content-development experience for in-market and/or launch or indication-expansion products, including personal promotion, agency leadership, complex project management, and promotional review. Rare disease, nephrology, HCP Marketing, P2P Marketing, or speaker programming and operations, experience is preferred.

Additional Skills/Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will embody Travere's core values: Courage, Community Spirit, Patient Focus, and Teamwork.

  • Broad HCP marketing expertise and ability to solve complex, cross-functional challenges using sound judgment and an understanding of functional strategy.

  • Ability to independently develop recommendations and project plans, make defined decisions within established strategy, and manage risks affecting department-wide outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders in complex situations while preserving relationships and achieving cross-functional alignment.

  • Strong business and scientific acumen, with the ability to translate customer and market insights into clear communication objectives, content strategies, and actionable tactical plans.

  • Successful record of managing agencies, external resources, complex project plans, timelines, budgets, scopes, and critical paths across multiple concurrent workstreams.

  • Experience achieving commercial objectives in a highly regulated environment, with a strong understanding of promotional review, compliant HCP communications, and cross-functional governance.

  • Working knowledge of digital-enabled HCP asset development and ability to collaborate with digital channel, technology, analytics, and media partners without owning digital strategy.

  • Agility in adapting to changes in strategic priorities, market dynamics, timelines, and resource constraints while maintaining quality and executional excellence.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills; exceptional organization and attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.

  • All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.
