We're looking for a skilled Additive Applications Engineer (LPBF) to join our team. In this role, you'll program, operate, and optimize Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) machines to produce high-performance metal parts. You'll work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on part development and qualification, handling tasks like slicing, support generation, and creating build files with LPBF software. Your responsibilities will also include performing machine calibration, maintenance, and diagnostics to ensure system readiness.
You'll also lead root-cause investigations into any build failures or anomalies, meticulously documenting your findings. This position involves writing and maintaining technical documentation, work instructions, and reports, as well as training and mentoring technicians on LPBF equipment operation and best practices. You may also provide on-site support for machine commissioning, customer ramp-up, and engagements with our Navy partners.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Hands-on industrial experience with EOS and other advanced manufacturing systems.
- Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, especially as they relate to welding and additive.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software: Siemens NX, Mastercam, SculptPrint and WAMSoft is plus.
