We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Application Deployment Engineer (DevSecOps / CI-CD) provides installation and deployment of customer applications securely across the global enterprise. We utilize a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) model and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) approach.

Responsibilities:

• You will be required to perform pre-deployment testing, and Deployment Readiness Reviews (DRR) to validate that applications meet all operational and security standards prior to launch.
• Upon approval you will execute deployments of applications using DevSecOps/CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to ensure efficient, consistent, and scalable installations.
• You will also coordinate deployments with Government change management processes and collaborate with DoS specialists to optimize configuration parameters and minimize operational disruption.
• Additionally, you will be required to Implement standardized rollback and recovery procedures to ensure rapid service restoration in the event of deployment failures.
• The Application Deployment Engineer will maintain comprehensive deployment records, including as-built configurations and SOPs, and provide accurate status reporting on all installation and deployment activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

• 6+ years
• Bachelor's in IT or related field
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
• Secret Security Clearance 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Comp TIA Sec+, ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s) 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

  • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds

If hired for this position, the base salary range would be within the range provided. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to work location, skills, experience, gov con contractual requirements, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Empower AI's total compensation package for employees.
