The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for partnering with the team to ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and the company's regulatory guidelines. Participate in strategic consultant meetings in conjunction with Carriers, Broker, and Outsourced Benefits provider to review trends and analyze potential plan design changes. Provide ongoing analysis of trends, legislative changes and best practices within the benefits field. Formulate business solutions to solve and educate leadership regarding benefits. In support of our Brand-Centric business model, support the value proposition of the business operation and associate needs by creating dashboards and adhoc reports to detail cost trends, market objectives and plan design solutions. The Analyst will Plan and implement processes in support of configuration of HR Benefit Systems & external benefit platforms and serve as SMEs for HR Business partners and Related Stake Holder teams.

Principle Duties and Responsibilties:
- Serve as a project lead and/or subject matter expert, for projects involving functional business areas, Payroll, HRIS, and IT. This will also include external vendor partners.
- Be a recognized expert in all aspects of ADUSA Brand Health Benefit processes- design, testing and site management. This includes the benefits enrollment platform and the associate portal. Partner with Consultants and vendors to ensure design proposed can be effectively managed under existing system design/constraints.
- Provide analytical support and impact analysis (both short and long term projections) of changes and modifications of programs. Research process improvements, lead vendor Plan and claim audits and resolve identified system issues impacting eligibility and plan compliance within the benefit platform and portal. Review data in conjunction with actuarial team.
- Analyze data to ensure accuracy of benefit related financial transactions/payroll deductions/health care fees & premiums. Support Health Plan Budget related initiatives by monitoring administrative costs of benefits programs and work closely with the Finance team to budget and forecast costs. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling of budgeted funds.
- Serve as Team Lead regarding Plan compliance - Including Government regulations, SPDs/ Plan documents and support tracking related to vendor contracting - working with HRIS team members as needed. Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations related to technology and best practices with ADUSA privacy teams.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Brand leadership and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of brand culture. Serve as Brand ambassador.
- In support of Health Plan strategy, review both short and long term cost estimates/projections and provide input and ideas to support new benefits programs. Provide analytical support and provide analyses of various impacts to changes and modifications of programs. Analyze possible plan designs and benefits cost changes.
- Participate in the evaluation of and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
- Review trends in claims activity. Using data analytics tools, create statistical analyses showing risk areas, key clinical trends and demographics. Prepare periodic summaries for presentation to HR Brands, finance and executive leadership.
- Perform plan audits and support those managed by Consultants. Prepare, collect and organize data for actuarial assessments. Review data in conjunction with actuarial evaluation.
- Survey industry trends. Complete benefits surveys and review information obtained from the results. Analyze moderate to complex benefits information. Forecast trends and assist with future benefits designs. Develop specific recommendations for review by management.
- Develop communications and tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package. Design materials for new hire benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to the benefits administration team, HRBP's and brand stakeholders.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Preserves confidentiality of associate medical documentation and files.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Skills:
- Strong customer focus and strong communication skills - both oral and written

- Strong analytical skills - advanced Excel skills; Power BI, Ability to work with Databases desirable.

- Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, HRIS Software and Benefit Plan platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience reviewing Health Plan documents, business contracts and analyzing complex data sets
- Working knowledge of Benefit Plan Administration as well as an understanding of the state/federal legal and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline and/or the equivalent combination of education/experience/training.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in employee benefits administration or HR related position.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and work under strict deadlines. Ability to prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables.
- Ability to work with highly confidential information with professionalism and tact.
- Human Resource certification (CBP, SHRM, etc).
- Reporting tools knowledge.
- Familiarity with payroll, and HR Systems and generalist topics a plus. Basic understanding of regulatory requirements and workplace safety principles.
- Knowledge of retail and Benefits industry helpful
