SUMMARY:

The Advanced Quality Test Engineer develops and executes test plans to validate / qualify new products and systems which include mechanical and electrical hardware, firmware, software, and network communication elements. Responsible for defining, selecting, and performing design validation methods by utilizing appropriate criteria for software and hardware new products. Calculates and interprets test data to ensure validation objectives have been met.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using the stated design inputs (i.e., product requirement and technical functional specifications, regulatory requirements, agency approvals), define roles and responsibilities of participants needed in the validation and qualification process. Ensure the effective coordination of this cross-functional team.
  • Interpret technical documents (i.e., drawings, bills-of-material, product data sheets and software algorithms) and specification requirements in relation to product and process characteristics.
  • Develop test plans by applying the basic elements of experiment planning and organization including determination of the experiment objective, selection of factors, responses and measurement methods, and application of appropriate test design.
  • Develop test beds and execute tests for validation / qualification of process, product, and service designs.
  • Define and apply prototype material identification, status, segregation, and traceability. Establish and maintain sample integrity, selecting appropriate techniques for avoiding inventory contamination, misidentification, etc.
  • Use appropriate destructive and nondestructive measurement and test methods. Apply pertinent test bed components and equipment, and accurately use measurement tools (i.e., power supply, signal generator, environmental chamber, multi meter, oscilloscope, gages, calipers, micrometers). Calculate, analyze, interpret, and correlate repeatability, reproducibility, and capability measurement data.
  • Identify reliability life characteristics of a particular product. Compute and evaluate reliability for redundant, series, and parallel systems. Compute, classify, and apply reliability and maintainability characteristics (i.e., MTTF, MTBF, MTTR, failure rate). Identify, classify, and describe methods of predictive and preventive maintenance. Analyze hardware and software fault analysis data and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
  • Define, construct, and interpret FMEAs, FMECAs, and FTAs.
  • Determine final acceptance (or rejection) of product, process or service.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Strong QA experience with Hardware/Software

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing test protocols and plans, including identification of test cases, to qualify products and systems composed of mechanical and electrical hardware, firmware, and software elements.
  • Hands-on experience testing electronic hardware including RF, embedded microprocessor systems, network communication protocols (BACnet and LON), and Windows-based software applications.
  • Knowledge of Niagara, Labview, HTML5, test Complete and Java desired
  • Working knowledge of validation and qualification methods and processes

This position reports to the Verification and Validation Manager and Director of Engineering.
COMPENSATION

The annual base salary range for this position is $103,000 - $155,000.  Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
