Position Summary
UG2 is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Boston headquarters team. This role will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate is both hands-on and strategic, with the ability to lead processes, drive improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
  • Partner with operations and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and integrations as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in a services-based or multi-site organization (facilities management, property services, or similar industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
