Job Description

The Opportunity

As an Account Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in renewing and expanding Thought Industries’ client relationships. You’ll be responsible for owning the full customer lifecycle sales —while actively pursuing expansion opportunities within your portfolio. 

This role is designed for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is passionate about building their book of business where playbooks are evolving, not pre-defined.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build Relationships: Develop relationships with clients across the territory.

  • Monitor Engagement: Maintain a cadence of communication with customers regarding their adoption trends and sentiment.

  • Analyze Data: Analyze client data to provide customer relationship management.

  • Anticipate Needs: Develop an understanding of account needs to anticipate account changes and improvements.

  • Report Progress: Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members and stakeholders.

  • Ensure Adoption: Leverage the robust client education platform and community to ensure clients are receiving value from their Thought Industries (TI) relationship.

  • Seek Deeper Engagement: Mine opportunities for deeper engagement during customer communication.

  • Inform Product Road Map: Share client feedback internally to help inform Thought Industries’ product road map.

  • Own the Lifecycle: Be responsible for owning the full customer lifecycle sales, playing a pivotal role in renewing and expanding client relationships.

  • Manage Contracts: Negotiate contracts with clients and manage them to timely renewals

  • Pursue Expansion: Actively pursue expansion opportunities within the portfolio.

  • Meet Goals: Deliver client solutions and meet sales and renewal goals.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience selling Saas solutions into mid-market organizations

  • Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales and renewal goals  

  • Extremely strong client management skills and ability to work with customers to demonstrate the value and power of the Thought Industries platform 

  • Intellectually curious with a passion for what you do and a drive to succeed

  • Ability to manage a high volume of account load

  • Experience calling executives in marketing, client success, learning, and product 

  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards and conduct, honors commitments, and treats people with kindness, compassion, trust and respect

  • Highly desired: Experience in the learning management software sales domain in the following areas: Software, Professional Training, Associations, Manufacturing, and Business Services.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in B2B SaaS Software sales, management, strategic account management or relevant experience

  • Results-driven mentality, with a bias for speed and action

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Self-motivated and self-directed while also being goal-oriented and organized team player 

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills 

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into insights. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be an active listener, a presenter, and a people-person 

  • Experience with SFDC, LinkedIn SalesNavigator, Gong, Gainsight and Zendesk is preferred

  • Strong G-suite skills

  • Comfortable in a startup environment: we move quickly and wear many hats in a dynamic environment

Additional Information

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. 

The annual base salary for this role is $100,000 with commission earnings up to $50,000. Commission is uncapped and tied to renewal and expansion performance.
