Emerge to the Top of Your Career

At MERGE, we strive to create a superior work experience where talented and ambitious people grow. An experience that encourages people to think higher and feel deeper. An experience where people engage their minds and hearts to do the best work of their careers.

As our Account Manager, Scale, you will…

Treat every client relationship as untapped growth potential, owning a book of business and continuously finding ways to expand it. You’ll spot whitespace, build compelling cases for new scope, and turn satisfied clients into long-term, thriving partners. Moving with agility and staying grounded in humility, you bring the sharp ability to connect client needs to creative solutions while thinking like a curious, consultative seller who loves hitting a goal.

What You’ll Do
  • Grow your book: Identify whitespace within existing accounts and build a pipeline of expansion opportunities — new services, new stakeholders, and new budget lines.
  • Sell the vision: Lead the drafting of proposals and SOWs that make the business case for expanded scope, partnering closely with service group SMEs and Project Management to back it up.
  • Know the client's business cold: Build genuine fluency in each client's market and competitive landscape so you can spot openings before they're obvious and speak credibly to their priorities.
  • Run the relationship like a pipeline: Meet regularly with client stakeholders to check in, gather feedback, and consistently look for the next opportunity to deepen the partnership.
  • Multi-thread the account: Build relationships beyond your primary contact to uncover new pockets of budget and influence within the client organization.
  • Keep the engine running: Track renewals, manage signature processes, and maintain clean CRM hygiene so growth opportunities never slip through the cracks.
  • Pivot with agility: Adapt quickly to shifting client priorities and agency rhythms without losing momentum.
  • Lead with humility: Listen first, celebrate team wins, and approach every problem with a desire to learn and support others.
Who You Are
  • Experienced & Capable: You bring 3–5 years of experience in client services, digital marketing, or technology consulting, ideally with a proven track record of growing accounts or hitting revenue targets.
  • Strategic Pitcher: You possess strong proposal-writing and business-case skills, with comfort coordinating technical and creative SMEs to build compelling pitches under deadline.
  • Agile Hunter-Farmer: You have a natural "hunter-farmer" instinct — nimble and as skilled at spotting an opportunity as you are at nurturing the relationship that gets you there.
  • Clear Communicator: You bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, paired with the active listening skills and confidence to run client meetings and make the ask.
  • Organized & Capable: You have strong organizational skills that allow you to juggle multiple accounts, deadlines, and stakeholders seamlessly.
  • Humble Collaborator: You bring a competitive spirit paired with zero ego, thriving in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional teamwork comes first.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and account/contract administration workflows.
  • Exposure to digital marketing, martech, or technology consulting engagements.
  • Experience contributing to or supporting SOW/contract processes in a client-facing role.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
