Underwrite and market new and renewal commercial lines accounts in accordance with agency’s policies and procedures. Provide assistance and support in placing, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts. Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage medium to large general industry and construction risks including Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) projects.
- Recommend and assist agents with explanation of available coverage options, completion of forms and rate quotations. Must have knowledge of coverages and be able to interpret coverage forms.
- Analyze new business applications, make recommendations and work with agent to obtain any required additional information.
- Analyze renewals and/or renewal applications, make recommendations and work with the agent to obtain any required additional information.
- Update renewal information and endorsement changes and enter information into agency management system as required by the agency’s standards.
- Review monthly expiration lists and initiate the renewal process based on the department’s standards. Initiate pre-billing of automatic renewals per agency procedures.
- Handle requests from agents and clients that pertain to insurance placements, such as certificates of insurance, endorsements, auto I.D. cards, etc.
- Generate new and renewal proposals as outlined by the Proposal Guidelines.
- Submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain client files and make client contacts as needed.
- Keep up-to-date on rates, forms and coverage changes through bulletins and circulars from insurance carriers and through the utilization of online resources.
- Assist other team members as needed to meet agency, team, and individual goals. Be a team player.
- Effectively understand the marketplace and changing market conditions.
- Effectively market accounts.

- Participate in seminars and classes for knowledge and professional development.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree highly desired.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
- Successful completion of educational seminars and classes required.
- Equivalent combination of education, training or related work experience will be considered.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Producer Licensing required.
- CPCU, CIC or other Property/Casualty designations preferred.

- Basic knowledge of multi-line risk underwriting.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of the industry, market conditions, and a broad knowledge of principal laws and regulations. Basic knowledge of financial analysis.

Working Conditions:
