Own the full sales cycle for mid-market B2B SaaS customers, from outbound prospecting and pipeline generation through discovery, demos, negotiation, and close. Manage migrations from competing email and marketing platforms, achieve quarterly revenue and pipeline goals, maintain accurate HubSpot records, collaborate with Solutions, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product, and develop AI-powered workflows for sales research, outreach, and deal preparation.

beehiiv is the all-in-one newsletter and creator platform powering the next generation of media companies and independent voices. We help creators and businesses launch, grow, and monetize newsletters, now serving tens of thousands of customers and reaching hundreds of millions of readers monthly. With $35M+ ARR, 100% YoY growth, and a newly expanded product suite (ad network, website builder, podcasts, community), we’re scaling fast.

We’re hiring an Account Executive to win new customers for beehiiv. Our customers are newsletter-first media companies, publishers and brands, many of them moving off tools that weren’t purpose-built for media-first operators, like Sailthru, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable and Mailchimp. Most of our deals are mid-market, and you’ll run them from first touch to signed contract.

This is a full-cycle role. You’ll build your own pipeline, run discovery and demos, manage migrations through close, and own a quarterly number. We look for creative, hungry people who are AI-first: reaching for AI to work smarter, building their own workflows, and finding new ways to sell.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 2+ years closing B2B SaaS deals as an AE
  • A track record of hitting or beating quota on mid-market deals, roughly $10K-$100K ACVs
  • Experience running full-cycle deals (prospecting, discovery, demo, negotiation and close), ideally including displacements of email service providers or marketing automation platforms
  • Comfort with outbound across email, phone and LinkedIn: cold calls don't scare you
  • Strong written communication: your follow-ups move deals forward
  • Coachability: you ask for feedback, act on it fast and can show how you've improved
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Clay) for research, outreach or deal prep
  • Media, publishing, creator economy or martech experience is a huge plus
  • Experience selling alongside a product-led growth / self-serve motion is a plus

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Owning your number: Hit quarterly closed-won and pipeline goals for new business.
  • Building pipeline: Source your own opportunities through outbound, and work inbound, referral and event leads with Marketing.
  • Running deals: Lead discovery, demos and proofs of concept (POCs), map customer pain to beehiiv, and bring in the right stakeholders to close.
  • Winning migrations: Show prospects how to move off their current tools, and partner with Solutions and Customer Success on a smooth handoff.
  • Keeping HubSpot clean: Log activity and keep stages, close dates and loss reasons accurate so the forecast holds up.
  • Bringing back signal: Share objections, competitive intel and messaging that lands with Sales, Marketing and Product.
  • Building with AI: Use and improve AI workflows for research, outreach and deal prep, and share what works with the team.

Why this role might be for you:

  • You've been a top performer on your team and want bigger deals and more ownership.
  • You'd rather build pipeline than wait for it.
  • You want to sell a product customers love at a company growing 100% YoY.
  • You're competitive and want your name at the top of the leaderboard.
  • You want a clear path to growth at a fast-growing company.
  • You’re hungry to earn.

Why this role might not be for you:

  • You want a traditional 9-to-5
  • You don't enjoy outbound prospecting or the rejection that comes with it
  • You prefer one priority at a time
  • You don't like rapid iteration and context switching
  • You'd trade quality for speed, or speed for quality

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
