We’re looking for an Account Executive to play a critical role in executing integrated media relations, executive communications, and complex technical and digital storytelling programs for innovative companies like Waabi, Prelude Ventures and OnRunning. LaunchSquad has a flexible, hybrid environment. Fully remote or hybrid candidates are welcome to apply.

They actively build new relationships with key media contacts and find new proactive media opportunities for clients. They develop and write key pieces of thought leadership content for executives. They are well-versed in core PR & communications work, independently drive work forward, and can balance competing priorities and objectives across all client teams. They are developing an understanding of the digital landscape, including social media strategies and influencer marketing campaigns, to amplify brand narratives. Team leaders rely on Account Executives to produce consistent, high-quality results. New teammates rely on Account Executives to share knowledge and guide day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience at a communications agency or start-up technology company, with a focus on PR, social media, or digital marketing
  • Skilled writer, with experience across multiple formats (including bylines, pitches, social) and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
  • Media relations experience, including a track record of impactful placements and proactive storytelling
  • Capable project manager with a knack for staying organized and working across multiple projects and competing timelines
  • Passion for consuming the news and following media trends, with an interest in innovation and technology
  • Consistent and reliable team collaborator, skilled in managing and communicating information effectively
  • Direct, inclusive interpersonal communication skills
  • Track-record of reliable, high-quality work in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to integrate earned media efforts with digital marketing campaigns is a plus
  • Diverse work samples that exemplify execution of integrated communications goals, including placements, social campaigns, and thought leadership, encouraged

At LaunchSquad, we care about our work, our clients and our community. We are a people-first company committed to making sure everyone has a great experience and an equal opportunity to grow and succeed.

If you are excited about telling meaningful stories with a team of curious, kind and talented people, we’d love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
