AACI Group, Inc. is dedicated to making insurance more accessible and affordable in catastrophe-prone regions. Climate change is increasing the frequency and severity of wildfires and other natural disasters, while carriers are retreating from high-risk markets. Homeowners are being left with fewer and more expensive options. We are addressing this challenge by building AI-native insurance agencies and digital services that combine risk data, loss prevention, and innovative product delivery.
About Five Bays Insurance AgencyFive Bays Insurance Agency is an independent personal lines insurance agency helping homeowners and property owners secure coverage in hard-to-insure, catastrophe-prone markets, with an initial focus on California. We specialize in navigating constrained underwriting environments and helping clients maintain meaningful, sustainable coverage.
Role OverviewFive Bays sells in squads: an AE Lead, an AE Follow and a Support Associate, backed by automated quoting, a residual quoting team for manual and wholesale risks, and a centralized servicing team that owns everything after bind. As an AE Lead, you own the sales outcome for every deal in your squad. You set the plan for each client, handle the complex coverage conversations, make the bind decision and coach your Follow, while your squad's Support Associate and our AI-native tools take the clerical work off your plate. This role is for a licensed producer who wants to sell more by working smarter, not by personally handling every touch.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn your squad's pipeline and results: prioritize deals, set the approach for each client and hit the squad's new business premium targets
Advise clients on coverage, carrier options and market constraints, including FAIR Plan, DIC and surplus lines placements, through our online quote experience, email or phone
Handle complex objections, eligibility questions and coverage changes, and decide when a risk needs manual or wholesale quoting
Confirm each client's election and required pre-bind documents, and bind coverage with carriers, MGAs and wholesalers
Delegate well: hand licensed follow-ups and closes to your AE Follow, and preparation, scheduling and document collection to your Support Associate
Coach and develop your AE Follow, and cover for each other so clients always reach a licensed advisor
Keep our CRM accurate, with a clear next action, owner and due date on every deal, and hand bound policies to our centralized servicing team cleanly
4+ years of P&C insurance sales experience, with a track record of closing personal lines business
Active Property & Casualty license, with a California license (resident or non-resident) or the ability to obtain one within 60 days
Strong knowledge of homeowners insurance in catastrophe-exposed markets; experience with the California FAIR Plan, DIC and surplus lines is a plus
Experience leading, mentoring or coaching other producers
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and comfortable working a pipeline across email, phone, CRM and shared inboxes
Desire to embrace and incorporate advanced AI tooling into sales workflows
Base salary of $70,000 to $90,000, plus squad-based variable compensation tied to new business premium
Health benefits and paid time off
Growth opportunities within Five Bays and AACI Group
Remote within the U.S., working California business hours (Pacific time)
Reports to the VP of Operations
This is an opportunity to help build a new kind of insurance agency at the forefront of climate and housing challenges. As an AE Lead, you will run your own squad, shape how we sell, and help California families keep their homes protected.
