The Account Director is responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships, providing strategic recommendations, managing cross-functional collaboration, and overseeing financial management to increase account profitability.
Let’s start with the job title. Account – indicates your ability to maintain and grow strong relationships with our most important clients. Director – you are a veteran, have strategic chops, can manage complex relationships and direct reports. Put it all together at Cramer and you have a key member of an event and content marketing agency.
More specifically, the Account Director:
- Plays a critical role in building and growing relationships and book of business with significant clients
- Provides strategic recommendations, with business/industry/service understanding, to our clients to drive account retention and growth
- Navigates and collaborates with cross functional teams, including Strategy, Creative and Production
- Is a consultative resource to our clients and internal team members, ultimately creating new business opportunities
- Mitigates potential roadblocks, before an issue arises
- Has strong financial management experience, with regard to business impact
- Embodies the voice of the client in all internal discussions
- Understands complex financial management to increase profitability of accounts and position business well for future growth
- Manages 1–2 direct reports
Requirements

- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proactive and motivated, but a team player
- Great presence and sticky with clients
- Demonstrated experience in an agency environment – bonus points if you have virtual event and content marketing expertise
- 7–10 years of experience Account Management, Strategy or another client facing role
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
