As a Backend Software Engineering Intern, you will develop backend services, enhance APIs, optimize SQL queries, and support integrations, while collaborating with engineers on production systems.
We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineering Intern to join our team and support customer-facing verification and vendor integration initiatives. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers on real production systems and contribute to APIs, data workflows, and backend services that power critical parts of our platform.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where you’ll ship meaningful code and gain exposure to modern backend architecture.
What You’ll Work On
- Build and enhance backend services using Python (FastAPI)
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and webhook integrations
- Write and optimize SQL queries against relational databases
- Support vendor integrations and verification workflows
- Contribute to testing, debugging, and improving system reliability
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to deliver features end-to-end
What We’re Looking For
- Strong foundation in Python
- Experience with or interest in FastAPI or similar web frameworks
- Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Clear communicator and strong team player
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Eager to learn and take ownership of assigned work
Bonus Points
- Experience with API integrations or webhooks
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Exposure to CI/CD or Git workflows
