Teams at Surgical Directions

Perform independent quality audits of assembled surgical instrument trays: verify contents against count sheets, inspect cleanliness and functionality, document discrepancies, track trends, report findings to leadership, support corrective actions and staff education, and re-audit to confirm improvements.

Serve as the liaison between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room to ensure instrumentation readiness, manage case carts and turnovers, troubleshoot instrument issues, coordinate with surgeons and OR staff, direct SPD technicians as needed, and support inventory and preference card accuracy. Maintain SPD competencies, conduct satisfaction surveys, and promote customer service while adhering to facility policies and contractor responsibilities.

Supervise daily Sterile Processing Department operations, staff, and training; ensure proper decontamination, sterilization, inventory control, and compliance; coordinate with OR and clinical departments; manage quality assurance, documentation, and operational improvements.
