Israeli cybersecurity firm Tufin chooses Boston for U.S. HQ
Tufin will become the latest Israeli cybersecurity firm to establish U.S. headquarters in Boston, when the company moves into a 3,214-square-foot office at 2 Oliver St. in July. Known for its software, which helps IT teams change their networks without introducing vulnerabilities to cyberattacks, Tufin will open its new office with more than 20 employees and will be overseen by CEO and co-founder Ruvi Kitov. LevelUp hires former sweetgreen Director of Product, Theresa Dold
Boston-based mobile payment startup LevelUp announced this week that it has hired Theresa Dold as Vice President of Agency Strategy. In her newly created role, Dold will drive adoption of LevelUp’s platform, features, tools and integrations among current and future restaurant partners. Dold was formerly the Director of Product at sweetgreen, a fast-casual restaurant with more than 60 locations around the country. Optimus Ride becomes second self-driving car startup to test in Boston’s Seaport
Yet another self-driving car startup has gotten approval from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to start testing vehicles in Boston’s Seaport. Optimus Ride, a Boston-based startup backed by computer chip company Nvidia, announced this week that it would soon begin testing its autonomous vehicles in the state of Massachusetts. Cambridge-based Sqrrl pulls in $12.3M to track down cyber threats
Cambridge-based Sqrrl, a startup that sniffs out cyberthreats, this week announced it raised a $12.3 million Series C round, bringing the company’s total funding to $28.5 million. The recent investment was led by Boston-based Spring Lake Equity Partners, with participation from existing investors Matrix Partners and Accomplice, as well as California-based Rally Ventures. Sqrrl applies big data tech to cybersecurity, helping companies scan massive datasets of security information and find subtle anomalies that could indicate attacks. [Built In Boston]
3 digital health startups win $200,000 at PULSE@MassChallenge
Known as “the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet,” MassChallenge awarded shares of $200,000 in prizes to three digital health startups from the inaugural PULSE @MassChallenge cohort this week. PULSE @MassChallenge was launched as a strategic component of the Mass Digital Health initiative, a public-private partnership designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the state’s digital healthcare industry.
