The first chill may be in the air, but fall tech hiring in Boston isn’t cooling off as companies ramp up projects for the year’s final quarter and prepare for new initiatives in the coming year.

The city’s robust tech scene, with its mix of startups and more established tech companies, creates a dynamic job market, and candidates with skills in software development, AI and cloud computing are in high demand. Luckily for hiring managers, Boston’s colleges and universities have long created a steady flow of talent, but as hybrid and remote work options remain prevalent, Boston-based companies are also increasingly tapping into a national and global talent pool, broadening their search beyond the local market.

As companies compete for top talent, many are sweetening job offers with attractive benefits and perks. Competitive compensation packages, flexible work options and a focus on diversity and inclusion are becoming key differentiators. Employers are looking to create workplaces that not only attract candidates but also foster long-term retention by offering growth opportunities and fostering inclusive environments.

With tech companies placing a premium on culture, the fall hiring season in Boston is expected to stay hot.

  • Generous parental leave and a return-to-work program post parental leave

Building Diverse Teams: Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Mia Ellis shared her vision for DEI at Mendix with Built In Boston last year

“While it is essential to align DEI with business goals and priorities, the essential need for ‘human skills’ development, particularly with leaders, cannot be overlooked. Both are needed to resolve systemic inequities and foster inclusive work environments,” she said.

Next Gen AI Practice: Senior Vice President, Digital Experience and Artificial Intelligence Deanna Ballew is supporting Acquia’s approach to generative AI across the business — both for technical and non-technical teams.

“As individuals, we need to become AI-literate and understand how it works, so we can make our own decisions around it. AI is not only for software engineers and tech-savvy people to understand. We all need to understand it and how it leverages personal data,” she told Built In Boston.
