Boston New Technology May 2017 Startup Showcase, May 9 at 6 p.m.
Boston New Technology is hosting a free event at 3D design software maker SolidWorks, located in Waltham. Innovators can come learn about seven new technology products and network with the Boston-area startup community. Presenters will get five minutes to show off their products and five minutes for Q&A.
Viseo Talent Summit, May 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Join the Viseo Talent Summit for a full day of idea exchange, discussions and networking with senior level HR and talent acquisition professionals. Viseo is bringing together the Boston tech industry’s brightest heads of talent, HR/recruiting, CEOs, and VC investors from Boston. Brands like Trip Advisor, Hubspot, edX, Black Duck, Google, Jet, LinkedIn and Summit Partners will be in attendance.
Startup Institute: Build A Career You Love, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Managing Director Peggy Yu will talk about how the Startup Institute’s program can help you build a career you’ll be passionate about. Topics of discussion will include web development, web design, digital marketing, sales and account management. They’ll also answer questions about coursework, partnerships, instructors, alumni engagements and success rates of our graduates.
Audio For Good Hackathon, May 12 at 8 a.m.
Audio For Good is a hackfest where participants are challenged to make projects that help us hear one another and amplify stories that need to be told. Hackers will be encouraged to use different technologies like speech to text, bots and voice interactive assistants (e.g. Alexa, Siri, Cortana, Google) that have arisen in the golden age of podcasts.
Tutorial: Best Testing Practices for Data Science, May 13 at 9 a.m.
If you’re a data scientist who often finds errors cropping up when you’re trying to wrangle big data, this event is for you. In this tutorial, you will gain hands-on experience writing tests in a data science setting so that you can learn how to continually ensure the integrity of your code and data. Attendees will learn how to use py.test, coverage.py and hypothesis to write better tests for code.
