Somerville-based ActBlue is broadening its tech portfolio with the acquisition of Impactive, a company on a mission to innovate Democratic organizing.

Through its digital fundraising platform, ActBlue supports more than 40,000 campaigns and entities and processed over $390 million in the second quarter of 2025. The acquisition announcement comes on the tail of the recent launch of Raise by ActBlue, a fundraising tool designed specifically to serve the needs of state and local campaigns that plan to pull in less than $25,000. It is also the latest step toward the company’s strategic vision of delivering a “Campaign in a Box” suite that encompasses fundraising, organizing and voter contact solutions.

“Delivering powerful organizing tools to tens of thousands of campaigns at scale has been Impactive’s goal ever since our very first pitch deck. We were very excited to find strategic alignment with ActBlue, and can’t wait to create the next generation of one-stop campaign tooling together,” Impactive Founder and CEO Naseem Makiya said in a statement.

Impactive will operate as “Impactive by ActBlue” and ensure it’s meeting the same security and compliance standards as ActBlue, while also providing advanced capabilities across texting, phone banking, relationship-driven organizing and voter registration. As development teams focus on backend integration, Impactive by ActBlue will remain a separate platform throughout a three-month integration period to prevent service disruptions for current customers.
