Breezeway, a property management startup for short-term rentals, recently closed a $15 million Series B round led by Catalyst Investors. The round comes during a busy travel year when many people are making up for lost travel due to the pandemic and travel restrictions over the past two years.

Breezeway helps residential property owners manage their properties and schedule maintenance and repairs. Through the platform, owners can schedule services for their properties in an easy and streamlined way. It also enables text communication between the owner and maintenance staff and can give updates on the status of the service requested.

“It’s challenging to deliver the type of detailed property preparation and service that guests have come to expect. Hospitality managers and hosts are inundated with operational tasks, from scheduling work, coordinating services over multiple locations and unique properties to monitoring guest needs, tracking preventative maintenance and compliance with hospitality standards,” Jeremy Gall, Breezeway CEO, told ShortTermRentalz.

To help with guest rentals, Breezeway also provides tools that help elevate the guest experience. According to the company’s website, the platform features an inventory monitor that tracks things like toilet paper, air filters and shampoo so the owner knows when to restock items.

This brings the Boston-based startup’s total funding raised to date to $36.2 million, according to CrunchbaseBuilt In last caught up with Breezeway back in 2020 when the company raised $8 million and launched new tools to ensure rental properties met cleanliness and safety standards during the pandemic.

“We built Breezeway because we saw the need for a much higher level of service in property management than was previously available. Covid-19 has now underscored this need, particularly in the context of detailed cleaning and safety operations, Gall said in a statement in 2020. “Fulfilling that level of service requires a smart platform to help property operators verify the cleanliness, safety and quality of their properties, and deliver a predictable and safe experience for their clients.

Breezeway also recently announced a new partnership with Vacation Rental Management Association to offer property safety and training courses to its members.
