Manager of Procurement
Job description
Rapid7 is looking for a Manager of Procurement to lead all global procurement efforts. This role reports directly to the Company’s General Counsel and will work closely with key business stakeholders, global suppliers, Accounts Payable and the Finance teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate that wants to build and manage a procurement process from start to finish. The right candidate will build out and manage the process of negotiating supplier agreements, identify opportunities for sourcing initiatives. This position will also provide both strategic and tactical support for sourcing activities and contract negotiation to provide excellent long-term value. This position will act as a business relationship manager and provide support to each functional and business unit organization as needed.
Responsibilities
- Create a global procurement strategy and process
- Define and align strategy to company’s goals for growth and profitability
- Negotiate vendor contracts and technology license agreements
- Ability to communicate with and influence all levels within the organization
- Demonstrate good understanding of total cost of ownership to drive cost reduction
- Create a company-wide RFI and RFP strategy
- Focus on key suppliers and manage supplier relationships to drive ongoing cost reduction
- Ensure an effective contract management structure is in place to track Company’s legal obligations
- Partner with internal/external stakeholders to assess ongoing price / rate to ensure market competitiveness
- Leverage advanced analytics to identify ways to reduce and optimize current and future spend including planning, forecasting, aggregating risk analysis, governance, and compliance
- Leverage spend and vendor data to identify supply risks and program opportunities
- Share annual spend and vendor information with the business to drive actionable insights
- Assist in the annual budgeting processes
- Review and update procurement policy to support the business
- Work with AP to implement an end-to-end P2P vision, aligned with the company’s technology
Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively negotiate an agreement
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Keen business acumen
- Successful track record in developing and executing strategic programs involving supplier and internal stake holders and delivering cost savings to the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and partner throughout the organization
- Minimum 3 years of experience with contract negotiation and sourcing in a technology environment
- Bachelor’s Degree

Proficient with:
- Highly proficient with Excel
- Proficient with Coupa, Concur, NetSuite, and Salesforce
- Preferred experience with Domo and Zendesk
- Law degree a plus
