Snowball is looking for a YouTube Video Producer to build and scale long-form video content for Monarch Money, a modern personal finance platform helping people feel confident and in control of their money.

About Our Client

Since launching in 2021, Monarch has become the top-recommended personal finance app by users and experts. They’re on a mission to help everyone build healthier relationships with their money. Their product combines thoughtful design, clarity, and trust to make personal finance feel calmer, more human, and more empowering.

The Opportunity

Monarch is expanding its YouTube presence to create long-form content that demystifies money and helps people make better financial decisions.

As YouTube Video Producer, you’ll develop YouTube-first formats that translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging, story-driven content. From concept to publish, you’ll own the full production lifecycle while helping define what Monarch looks and feels like on YouTube.

This role is embedded with Monarch’s Creative team. Snowball serves as Monarch’s YouTube creative partner, leading strategy, creative development, and channel growth. You’ll collaborate closely with Snowball’s YouTube experts (27M+ subscribers, 110B+ views) to experiment with formats, refine storytelling, and build a channel grounded in trust and clarity.

As Monarch continues to grow, YouTube storytelling plays a critical role in how they educate, support, and connect with their audience.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute YouTube-first video formats aligned with Monarch’s mission, voice, and brand values

  • Translate personal finance concepts into approachable, story-driven narratives

  • Lead the full YouTube production cycle: research, ideation, scripting, filming, and post-production collaboration

  • Experiment with long-form formats to position Monarch as a trusted authority in personal finance

  • Partner with Monarch’s Brand and Creative teams to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment

  • Work with Snowball to analyze performance data and continuously optimize for reach, retention, and engagement

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience as a video producer, filmmaker, or content creator with a strong storytelling portfolio
    Experience producing YouTube-optimized long-form content

  • Proven ability to make complex or intimidating topics feel clear, human, and accessible

  • Comfort owning an end-to-end production pipeline independently

  • Strong collaborator with experience working cross-functionally across brand, creative, and marketing teams

  • Deep understanding or interest of YouTube best practices, audience behavior, and retention strategy

  • A passion for Monarch’s mission and an interest or background in finance

  • Bonus: Experience in finance or edutainment storytelling

The Perks
  • Work wherever you want! As a fully remote company with no central office, we want you to work wherever you are happiest and most productive. Whether that’s out of your home, a co-working space, or elsewhere.

  • Competitive cash and equity compensation in a hyper growth, early stage company 🚀

  • Stipend to set-up your ideal working environment.

  • Competitive Benefit Plans for employees based on your location (e.g. in the US we offer: Medical, dental and vision benefits and the ability to contribute to a 401k plan)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 3 day weekend every month! The company takes off the “First Friday” every month to focus on rest, recuperation, or just have fun!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
