Job Description

As a Yacht Specialist, you are responsible for the planning, selling, and implementation of luxury yacht charters and private-guided high-touch experiences for our customers.

From the initial conversations to providing expert advice and yacht knowledge, from sourcing suitable yachts, collecting quotes, to sending confirmations and drafting contracts, you will work closely with high-end customers and service providers to create the ultimate ultra-luxe travel package for each of your clients. You will need to craft your approach creatively, and you will negotiate, handle objections, and identify additional business opportunities. It’s your goal to ensure all clients return home having had a trip that exceeds their expectations.

Who You Are
  • A Passionate Traveller & Yacht Expert - A mountain climber, a deep diver, an explorer, a curious nomad, or perhaps a globetrotter who has lived, worked, or traveled extensively in your specialized region. Ideally, you have worked in the luxury yacht industry as a broker
  • A Fabulous Storyteller - You share your destination and yacht expertise passionately and can create a story that ignites excitement through a warm phone presence and professional email communications.
  • A High Performer - A trusted advisor, an account manager, an entrepreneur. You know how to follow a lead, entice a client, close a sale, and guarantee satisfaction.
  • A Devoted Team Player - Your team matters to you. You enjoy partnering with and supporting each other during work hours, and the conversations will likely continue when the computer is off.
  • A Curious Learner - You are excited to keep updated with new product development and thrive on continuing to build intimate knowledge of your region.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the luxury market
  • Ideal candidates have previously worked on/in the yacht industry as a yacht broker, central agent, or yacht service provider.
  • Must possess experience in building FIT packages servicing high-touch clientele
  • Experience in the yacht industry including yacht destination knowledge, yacht terminology, contracting or servicing yachts
  • Well-versed in consultative sales approach
  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding monthly sales targets
  • Expert in client relationship building, specifically with high-touch clients
  • Ability to resolve problems independently on time
  • Appreciate and exemplify teamwork
Cultural Fit
  • Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Team-oriented
  • Thrives in a KPI-driven environment
  • Highly functional in a fast-paced, constantly changing workplace - building plans through iterations from learning what’s working and not working.
  • Ability to build trust and work through conflict both upwards and downwards.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
