Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex calculated fields, custom reports, and advanced reports using the Workday report writer.
- Build composite reports, matrix reports, and dashboards supporting business decision-making.
- Configure and maintain business processes, condition rules, and approval routing across HCM and Finance.
- Develop Workday Extend applications and PRISM analytics where appropriate, packaging custom logic in supported platform extensions rather than fragile customizations that complicate future upgrades.
- Build report-as-a-service integrations and support data export needs for downstream systems.
- Configure security domains, role-based security, and segment-based security across complex tenants.
- Partner with HR, payroll, and finance stakeholders to translate requirements into Workday configurations.
- Develop and maintain documentation for business processes, calculated fields, and security models.
- Support Workday tenant refreshes, regression testing cycles, and platform release adoption, validating configuration and reports against expected behavior before each move into production.
- Troubleshoot configuration and report issues in production tenants, working closely with functional teams to isolate root causes, propose remediation, and prevent recurrence through configuration improvements.
- Collaborate closely with integration developers on report-driven data flows, gathering requirements, aligning on technical approach, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both functional needs and broader engineering and operational standards.
- Provide guidance on Workday best practices and configuration design patterns.
- Participate in Workday community forums, brainstorms, and product feedback channels, contributing field perspective and bringing back valuable insights and emerging best practices to the broader team.
- Stay current with Workday releases and platform innovations, regularly review release notes and community discussions, and translate noteworthy advances into concrete recommendations and adoption proposals for the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Five or more years of Workday technical experience.
- Deep expertise in Workday report writer including advanced and composite reports.
- Strong proficiency with calculated fields across HCM and Finance.
- Hands-on experience configuring business processes and condition rules.
- Strong understanding of Workday security framework.
- Experience with PRISM Analytics or Workday Extend.
- Familiarity with Workday tenant management and release process.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Workday Pro certifications.
- Experience with Workday Extend application development.
- Familiarity with PRISM data ingestion and modeling.
- Exposure to multi-tenant or multi-region Workday deployments.
- Experience supporting Workday Payroll or Workday Financials.
