Summary:
We're looking for a Windows Systems Engineer to lead the management of HHMI’s Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune environments. In this role, you’ll configure and deploy updates, ensure device compliance with security policies, and provide expert support to end-users. You'll also maintain and secure our desktop and laptop infrastructure, helping to keep systems running smoothly and efficiently.
As the subject matter expert on Endpoint and Intune, you'll collaborate with cross-functional tech teams to ensure our tools and systems work seamlessly together.
This role will follow our hybrid model, which includes reporting in person to our headquarters in Chevy Chase, MD, a few days each week.

What you’ll do:
Manage and configure devices using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Intune.
Automate system updates and processes using PowerShell scripting.
Ensure devices meet security policies and maintain compliant configurations.
Coordinate and deploy monthly Windows and third-party software patches.
Support users remotely by installing, configuring, and updating software and systems.
Troubleshoot complex issues via service desk tickets and deliver excellent end-user support.
Document issues, fixes, and processes clearly to improve team knowledge and support outcomes.
Collaborate across teams to identify issues, solve problems, and achieve departmental goals.
Create and maintain internal technical documentation and user-facing Knowledge Base articles.
Build reports and dashboards to track compliance, deployments, and system health.
Provide advanced (Level 3) support for endpoint devices and Intune, including compliance, app deployment, patching, and troubleshooting.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Certifications in Endpoint Manager or Intune are a plus.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with hands-on work in Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune.
Experience with Windows and macOS desktop environments.
Solid experience supporting Office 365 and other enterprise applications.
Proficiency in PowerShell and other automation tools.
Familiarity with networking concepts, troubleshooting, and protocols.
Experience with Active Directory (Users, Computers, and Groups).
Ability to build rapport and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users.
Exceptional customer service and support.
Strong documentation skills and knowledge base content.
Ability to learn quickly and retain new technical information
Priority management and organization skills to stay on top of work in a fast-paced environment
Strong collaboration and desire to work across teams.

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace.
