What would you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

The Operator under direction of the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager will perform daily operations and maintenance activities at the treatment facilities and pump stations, with supervision, operations/monitoring/maintenance, and housekeeping of the facilities in accordance with contract requirements. 

Activities include:

  • The operation and monitoring of the Pumping station and the satellite pumping stations and all associated components.
  • Monitor the SCADA system.
  • Daily inspection of facility.
  • Maintaining communications with project personnel.
  • Preventive maintenance activities and data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
  • Monitor and control assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service to meet budget, and will serve as an integral team member with the project staff and management.
  • Comply with all company Health and Safety procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel, ensuring that other facility employees follow established administrative, safety, operating, and maintenance policies. 

Schedule:

  • The Operators work a 12-hour shift that covers a 2-week cycle as illustrated below: Overtime for any hours over 40.

  • Week   1 – Saturday: Midnight-Noon, Sunday: Midnight-Noon, Off Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday: Midnight-Noon, Thursday: Midnight-Noon, Friday Off - Total Hours 48 (8 hours OT and time and a half)

  • Week   2 – Saturday and Sunday Off, Monday: Midnight-Noon, Tuesday: Midnight-Noon, Wednesday and Thursday Off, Friday: Noon-Midnight - Total Hours 36

What you will need to succeed?

  • Must possess proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site specific systems. 
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent. 
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a water or wastewater treatment facility is desired.
  • Possess and maintain, a minimum of a Massachusetts Grade 4M Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s License.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
