Warehouse Custodian – Brilliant Earth – Secaucus, NJ

As a Warehouse Custodian at Brilliant Earth, you will support our operations team by ensuring that our work environment remains pristine, safe, and fully operational. This role supports our dynamic team by managing daily cleaning and maintenance tasks across key areas, including our distribution center, repair room, staff break areas, and restrooms. This position plays a key role in sustaining a productive atmosphere while upholding our high standards in facility management and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Open facility for the day and ensure the distribution center, repair room, staff break areas, restrooms and warehouse are clean, stocked and ready for employee use.
• Maintain a janitorial log indicating completion of tasks, including sweeping and mopping, waste disposal, cleaning and refreshing bathrooms and kitchen, and wiping down surfaces. · Address facilities issues as they arise and perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed (plunge toilets, assemble furniture, painting, etc.)
• Report major damages and oversee facilities maintenance. Greet maintenance vendors and escort them through facility, monitoring through the repair process.
• Undertake occasional custodial tasks (disposing of pallets, lifting heavy items, moving furniture, etc.)
• Perform heavy cleaning duties as needed such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass and removing rubbish. May be required to use cleaning equipment such as steamers, floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners · Ensure that pest control systems are operating effectively. Knock down spider webs, install and reset traps as needed.
• Audit janitorial supplies, equipment and disposables. Request replenishment from HR as needed.
• Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with on-site staff to ensure the facility is clean and high impact tasks are completed with urgency.
• Adhere to and follow company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions, following all safety rules, procedure manuals, and diagrams · Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications (email, ticketing system, messenger programs) to communicate.
• Ability to solve routine problems
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe use of cleaning products
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and janitorial techniques
• Ability to work independently
