About Us

Nourish is on a mission to improve people’s health by making it easy to eat well. Nutrition-related chronic disease is the largest and most overlooked crisis in the world. Food can be medicine: working with a Registered Dietitian is one of the most effective interventions available, but <1% of eligible Americans use their covered benefits.

Nourish is building an AI-native, patient-friendly healthcare system centered on nutrition that improves outcomes, lowers costs, and helps people live healthier, longer lives. We launched three years ago, are live in all 50 states, and already have thousands of dietitians and hundreds of thousands of patients on the platform.

We are growing quickly, have partnered with national health insurance companies and provider groups, and have raised $115M from top-tier VCs including JP Morgan, Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, Y Combinator, Maverick Ventures, Box Group, Atomico, G Squared, and Pinegrove Venture Partners. Our angel investors include world-class healthcare founders from Oscar, Rightway Health, Headway, Spring Health, and Alto Pharmacy, as well as soccer star Alex Morgan and the founders from Olipop and Notion.

About the Role

Reporting into the cofounder & CEO, the VP of Talent Acquisition will lead the next era of growth at Nourish. The right candidate is someone who lives and breathes hiring and believes that our incredible talent and our culture of excellence are our multipliers and differentiators.

We’re scaling both the company and the TA function itself at a significant pace to support our ambitious goals. What we need now is a dedicated, high-caliber leader to own the talent acquisition function end to end, set the bar, and build the engine.

This role is for a builder and operator who’s fluent in both high-level strategy and in-the-weeds execution. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional leadership and the executive team to shape our recruiting philosophy, evolve our systems and processes, and hire a world-class team to help us get there.

This role is full-time and open to NYC-based candidates only (expectation to work in-person 3-4 days per week, with some remote flexibility). Our office is in the heart of Union Square.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and lead the entire Talent Acquisition function at Nourish, with full accountability for hitting aggressive hiring goals across all teams
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing TA team, including managers
  • Build and scale recruiting systems, process, and tooling that work at 250+ team scale and beyond
  • Partner closely with functional leaders and execs on hiring plans, org design, and talent strategy
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to leadership on all things talent / recruiting
  • Drive employer brand, candidate experience, and recruiting operations to best-in-class levels
  • Personally lean into searches and act as a strong closer for top-tier talent
You’ll love this role if you:
  • Are NYC-based (or willing to relocate) and thrive in a high-touch, collaborative in-office culture
  • Have 12+ years of experience, with prior senior-level leadership over high-growth teams. We're open to non-traditional background for this role but recruiting experience is of course valuable
  • Have scaled a fast-growing startup and built the infrastructure to do it
  • Are hands-on; you’re not above doing the work, deeply operational, and wired to own and executed
  • Have exceptional taste in talent, with a high hiring bar and a thoughtful, first-principles approach to recruiting
  • Are a strong people manager with experience developing recruiting leaders and high-performing teams
  • Are metrics-minded and confident in data, modeling, process design, and operating rigor
  • Are a proactive, thoughtful partner who can anticipate hiring needs and lead with solutions
  • Are values-aligned with our culture and excited about the opportunity to shape it as we scale

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
