Job Overview:
LPL's Quality Engineering team is seeking an exceptional quality engineering leader who is a strategic thinker, results oriented, execution focused with a strong track record in technology delivery space. As the VP, Quality engineering leader at LPL, you will be leading people leaders, work side by side with our Development, Product, Operations, Business units, and Enterprise Architecture teams to create strategy, deliver our roadmap with quality, efficiency with focus on functional and non-functional requirements. The right person for this role will excel in growing and leading a team of quality engineering leaders and SDETs in an agile environment that drives strategic thought and tactical execution for high visibility, high value stream initiatives with focus on quality and automation.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure products continuously comply with LPL’s quality, performance, reliability, security, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Responsible for testing and delivering state-of-the-art solutions for LPL that are in accordance with customer expectations, business aspirations, and architecture principles
- Experience with driving CI / CD practice, test automation and shift left Quality
- Drive the implementation and accuracy of quality metric, trend detection and implement preventive measures in upstream product development activities
- Provide full visibility on delivery, quality, automation and efficiency related metrics to internal stake holders
- The role will entail building, leading and growing a talented engineering team, nurturing best engineering practices, collaborating closely across various cross-functional teams
- Drive a results-oriented culture, with a strong focus on engineering excellence, execution, and craftsmanship as a Customer Champion
- Develop trusted partnerships with developers, product, business partners, and architecture leaders to drive optimized platform product delivery
- Drive effective, mature Agile practices and continuous execution improvements within your teams
- Manage stakeholder planning, communications ensuring key outcomes and deliver executive level status updates to all stake holders
- Build execution momentum by identifying patterns that work well and transforming the anti-patterns that inhibit the team’s progress
- Led by example. Build, coach, and manage a strong team of engineers and engineering managers who set the standard and can up-level the overall talent of the extended organization
- Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent products and programs from delivering on product and program objectives
- Focus on innovation as a key cultural element and optimize for efficiencies by bringing unique solutions to the table and questioning the status quo and supporting the modernization efforts
- Embrace a data and metrics (KPIs, OKRs) driven culture to help make informed decisions, to help prioritize work, to demonstrate progress and inspire followership of the purpose driven outcomes
- Align closely with business goals by understanding them carefully and drive engineering efficiencies for effective execution
- Function effectively in a dynamically changing competitive and regulatory environment and manage continuously changing business needs
- Set goals for the team members, and help them track, measure, and in most cases exceed the set goals
- Lead with empathy, transparency, clarity, and pragmatism to build trust and camaraderie with and within the team

Requirements:
- BS/MS computer science degree or related field from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of experience in leading leaders, team of teams and supporting 15+ scrum teams
- 15+ years of experience in software development or quality engineering, in the software technology field
Core Competencies:
- Must be self-driven, yet flexible and adaptable with outstanding communications skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure managing multiple programs
- Highly Competent with Functional Test automation frameworks, Accessibility & Performance testing
- Demonstrated experience on business rules related to Securities Trading (Equity, Option, Mutual Fund, Annuity and Fixed Income Trading).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS is desired
- Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture, Software design, Implementation & testing
- Strong object-oriented programming skills and expertise
Preferences:
- Significant experience in functional test automation frameworks, performance and accessibility testing.
- Technical knowledge/coding skills in any of the following: Java, C# .Net and/or Python
- Solid experience with CI/CD & Cloud technologies
Pay Range:
$145,400-$242,300/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
