About XBOW

Build the future of offensive security with XBOW. Attackers are already using AI to move faster than defenders can react—we’re creating the platform that puts security ahead in the arms race. Our AI-powered system autonomously discovers, validates, and even exploits vulnerabilities, giving organizations proof-backed results in hours instead of weeks.

Founded by Oege de Moor, creator of GitHub Copilot, and backed by Sequoia, Altimeter, and other leading investors, XBOW is applying cutting-edge AI to one of the world’s most urgent problems. In just over a year, our AI—built by a world-class AI team and legendary security researchers—has uncovered thousands of real-world zero-days across the software billions rely on, and achieved the #1 ranking on HackerOne’s global leaderboard.

We’re a team of builders, hackers, and researchers who thrive on solving problems others think are impossible. If you want to push the boundaries of AI, reshape how security is done, and join the group defining this new era of defense—we’d love to talk.

Your Role: VP of Product Marketing

We’re looking for a VP of Product Marketing to lead how XBOW is positioned, packaged, launched, and understood in the market. This role owns the full product marketing function—spanning technical GTM strategy, messaging and positioning, launch execution, content marketing programs, analyst relations, sales enablement, and the creation of a world-class Developer & Security Relations program to drive community evangelism.

This leader will sit at the intersection of Product, Security Research, Growth, Sales, and Brand with deep ownership of how we define and win a new category: autonomous offensive security. You’ll turn powerful capabilities—AI-driven vulnerability discovery, exploit validation, and continuous learning systems—into crisp, differentiated narratives and repeatable go-to-market motions.

You’ll thrive here if you can go deep with security researchers and engineers, speak fluently to CISOs and practitioners, and are excited to build the product marketing engine that scales a category-defining company.

What you will doProduct Marketing Strategy & Category Leadership
  • Own product marketing vision and strategy for XBOW across product lines, personas, and markets

  • Lead category creation for autonomous offensive security, defining how buyers understand the space and why XBOW wins

  • Build and maintain positioning, messaging, and narrative frameworks that resonate with technical practitioners and executive buyers

  • Translate complex technical differentiation into clear, consistent market-facing stories

  • Define success metrics for product marketing impact: adoption, pipeline influence, conversion rates, message resonance, and win/loss insights

Go-To-Market & Launch Excellence
  • Own GTM strategy across new products, major features, betas, and GA launches

  • Build and run a repeatable launch process with clear cross-functional readiness: messaging, enablement, content, demand, sales alignment, and product adoption

  • Drive packaging and pricing strategy, including market inputs, segmentation, and willingness-to-pay research

  • Lead competitive strategy, including counter-positioning, battlecards, and objection handling

Content Marketing & Thought Leadership Program (Technical + Executive)
  • Build and manage a scalable content marketing program supporting the full funnel: awareness, education, adoption, and expansion

  • Own content strategy across formats: blogs, whitepapers, solution briefs, case studies, technical guides, demos, webinars, and launch assets

  • Partner with Security Research and Engineering to turn novel findings into compelling GTM narratives and consistent brand-level thought leadership

  • Establish editorial standards for technical accuracy, clarity, and differentiation

Developer & Security Relations (DevRel + SecRel) Leadership
  • Build and manage a Developer & Security Relations team focused on community engagement and product evangelism

  • Define the community strategy for engaging researchers, hackers, and builders across:

    • Vulnerability research communities

    • Bug bounty ecosystems

    • Offensive security practitioners

    • Developer tool communities and OSS ecosystems

  • Drive community programs that increase trust, adoption, and advocacy:

    • Technical workshops and demos

    • Community toolkits and enablement

    • Evangelism content and live events

    • Conference strategy and speaking pipeline

  • Partner closely with Security Research to ensure community-facing credibility, authenticity, and impact

Sales Enablement & Growth Alignment
  • Build strong partnerships across Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver:

    • Pitch frameworks, demos, and talk tracks

    • Persona-based messaging and use case playbooks

    • Competitive enablement and objection handling

  • Support account strategy with industry and segment narratives, value props, and ROI frameworks

  • Bring customer insights into product strategy by establishing closed-loop feedback with GTM and product teams

Analyst Relations & Market Influence
  • Lead analyst strategy across Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and key industry influencers

  • Own analyst briefings, messaging alignment, and report-driven strategy

  • Partner with comms to drive category-level visibility through technical press and earned media

Skills and qualificationsEssential
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, including leadership experience scaling GTM for technical products

  • Strong track record of positioning, messaging, and launch execution for developer, infrastructure, or security platforms

  • Deep technical foundation in application security, vulnerability management, offensive security, or modern security tooling

  • Ability to understand and explain AI/ML-driven systems in practical security-relevant terms

  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams and cross-functional GTM processes

  • Proven ability to work closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Sales, and Growth

  • Strong executive communication skills—can influence internal leadership and articulate strategy externally

  • Data-driven decision making, with an ability to connect product marketing strategy to measurable business outcomes

Advantageous
  • Hands-on background in penetration testing, security research, AppSec, or red teaming

  • Experience building or leading Developer Relations / Security Relations functions

  • Previous experience at high-growth security, DevOps, or AI-native companies

  • Familiarity with vulnerability disclosure programs, bug bounties, or offensive security workflows

  • Experience supporting analyst relations, technical press, and community influence programs

  • Prior exposure to category creation or “new market” GTM strategy

What we offer
  • Compensation & Equity: Competitive salary and equity package, making you a true owner of the company

  • Executive Impact: Build the product marketing engine that defines how the market understands autonomous offensive security

  • Career Growth: Scale a team and function while growing with a category-defining company

  • Meaningful Work: Solve technically complex challenges alongside world-class AI builders and legendary security researchers

We aren’t focused on seniority titles at XBOW—so if you’re worried about “leveling,” don’t be. We care far more about mission fit, capability, and impact than what’s on your LinkedIn headline.

We believe in people driven by curiosity and a willingness to learn. Even if you don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply if you’re excited about the role.
